Having trouble finding "Walking Stick" insect

I checked the guide and it says the walking stick is located in "Deep Woods"  herb garden. Is this the garden by the Hermit's house or the circular one? I have checked around each area, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Do you see it walking around on the plants, or do you just hover over plants to see if option for collect bugs occurs?

I saw it near the circular one once.  These insects are very large so not that hard to see but if you don't catch them the minute you see them you may not see them again for a few days.  I didn't get my walking stick right away and didn't see it again before my vacation was up.
