[Possible Bug] Multiple Births
« on: February 21, 2015, 01:02:25 PM »
I've noticed tons of twins and triplets being born in my game. It seems like what people were describing was happening in their game before a patch fixed it.  Is anyone else's game is still getting the vast majority of their births as multiples, even with the latest patch in?

If this information helps, I took break from Sims 4 from between sometime in early December to just a few weeks ago, where I did not play much, so I did not see the multiple birth bug when most people first got it.  I logged in once around Christmas, and downloaded a patch at that time, although I did not play for more than a minute. I just went into a game and looked at the free items and messed around for a few minutes.  I did not play again until earlier this month, when I bought Outdoor Retreat.  I think there was more than one patch included in that download, which should have had the multiple birth fix.

In the time I've been playing since, my game has been factory reset once and I've cleared the caches and done the repair game thing from Origin multiple times.  Yet, my sims are still having twins or triplets the vast majority of the time, and single births are rare.

Is it just me, or is there something I need to do to fix this?  Or do I need a mod?

They say this bug is fixed, but a few have been reporting that it isn't quite solved.

Just in case anyone is still having this problem, it may be a good idea to go over to answer.ea.com using the links below and click the Me Too button.

I'm hoping if it gets more points on the Me Too that they'll look into the problem some more? Can't say for sure, but that's my hope.

As I was searching more on this possible bug, I found another possible fix, here's some information about that.

Keep Getting Twins (Mar. 2015)

The December twin problem - which was happening to everybody - was an acknowledged bug. What was happening before that and still is now seems to be a much-higher-than-natural chance of twins. (A modder posted about it at one point.) It's never been acknowledged as a bug. It's suggested using one of the mods for this.

I guess my game didn't get hit by that bug.  Since I have had sims4, I have not had one multiple birth.  So not sure if this is a bug or not, lol.

Out of three households on rotational play I've had two sets of twins and one single birth. Seems about right, although without making more nooboos I couldn't be 100% sure.

Since the latest patch, I've actually had the opposite problem. While I used to get a decent amount of multiples, (never triplets, though), all of the pregnancies I've had since the latest update have been single births, even when the sims had the fertile trait. Kinda sucks when you're running a baby challenge. :/

I was just posting that I've had three pregnancies and three sets of twins in my current household - no fertility reward. So I think something's up, or the randomizer isn't randomizing properly. :)

And you are fully patched up?

Yes, fully patched. It automatically does it for me - I actually have no idea how to turn that off. But I double checked it after the second set of twins because I was worried about it.

Until the last patch all my pregnancies were twins. Since the patch even with fertility rewards and drinking the fertility serum all I get is single births. It's quite disappointing! I have no idea what to do to fix this. Can anyone help?

I'm not entirely sure this has anything to do with Multiple Births Bug. But I figure it maybe good to note anyway.

Randomizer is clearly borked / 18 sets of twins

I hope this helps, and Thanks for posting. I've been wondering if this was still buggy. I'm trying to keep an eye on all bugs and possible bugs that get posted here.
