Laundry problem workaround for Sims 3
« on: February 13, 2015, 03:26:01 PM »
Lots of people post about the problems getting the maid or butler to do the laundry properly. I have solved the maid issue by using testingcheatsenabled mode and giving the maid more appropriate traits, like Neat, Family-Oriented, Perfectionist and so on. I actually had a maid with the Kleptomaniac trait at one time. That can't be good! After giving her the new traits, she became much more likely to do the laundry.

Another problem arises when you have very large homes with multiple bathrooms and bedrooms. There becomes a large number of rooms where your Sims are likely to need a change of clothes. The normal solution is to put a Laundry Basket in every location but I baulked at the idea of a home with twelve Laundry Baskets scattered all over the house.

My solution is not perfect but I now only have one Laundry basket per floor. I have removed all the doors and just left a gap in the wall where the door used to be. If your Sims want privacy in the bathroom or whatever, just get creative with the location of the gap in the wall. This won't suit perfectionists who want every detail in their Sims home to be realistic, but it's a pretty effective workaround.

I have found a mod that makes it so you only need one laundry basket in the whole home and everything will automatically be put inside it, but it was either taken down or I just can't find it. :(

I think that 'Less or No Laundry on the Floor' tunning mod from modthesims is also efficient and should do the trick...
