Resource.cfg
« on: February 08, 2015, 01:14:09 PM »
Hi guys!

I'm trying to install some mods and I used the step by step guide on this forum. For some reason, I can't extract the resource.cfg file. Any ideas for what could be going wrong? I have 7-zip and winrar both installed.

I figured out how to extract the file but my mods still aren't showing up in game.

Direct Download Link:

Unzip the file by double-clicking it. Right-click and select open on the folder it creates. Right-click on the Resourse.cfg file and select Copy then Paste it into the Mods folder.

If you're mods aren't showing up in-game this may mean they aren't installed correctly, outdated or incompatible.

Try the 50/50 method of finding which one or ones that are causing issues.

This method works for both mods and custom content.

1. Save the mods folder to desktop and then remove all mods/cc from within your Sims 3 folder.
- \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods

2. Delete cache before adding or removing any mods/cc.

CasPartCache.package ; compositorCache.package ; scriptCache.package ; simCompositorCache.package ; socialCache.package

3. Move back only one or two mod files at at time. - delete cache

4. Load a new test-save and check that things are good. Don't save.

Repeat steps 2 - 4 until you've gone through your mods. If you find your having trouble, check the last two you installed again one by one.

If that doesn't help, search on the CC that you're having issues with to see if anyone else is having problems with it. If there are, try any tips they may have for solving the issue. Also check the Creator's site for any troubleshooting tips.
