The Acerburg Immortal Dynasty

This is going to be kept as a record page and will be updated with the requirements once an immortal finishes them.
I'm afraid this Dynasty isn't going to have a lot of pictures. I'm sorry, but I just feel that it'll take time away from playing.
Still, I hope you'll enjoy it anyway and wish me good luck! I've tried finishing so many times, but this time, I'm going for it!

Say hello to our founder, Edwina Acerburg.

Her traits are Green Thumb, Natural Cook, Proper, Bookworm and Grumpy and her LTW is "The Perfect Garden" - original, I know.

I decided to play in Sunset Valley, meaning the original Sunset Valley. I deleted all the automatically placed lots beforehand, so no junkyards or consignment shops. I also decided to play with all game settings at their default settings, no matter how much I know it'll annoy me later with zombies and winter (a really annoying feature in terms of gardening). But I just felt that that would be the best challenge, a completely unaltered town and no strategic alterations.

Edwina decided to invite Agnete Rynkebund (aka Agnes Crumplebottom) to live with her. I'm from Denmark, so Agnes is called Agnete in my game (pronounced something like Aunede). Names will therefore be Danish, at least many of them, due to the game spawning Danish names on townies. My own sims will have English names though, but that's just a preference of mine.

Money is high on Edwina's wishlist for a housemate and though I'm slightly ashamed skipping over the "I have no house"-part, Edwina doesn't mind at all. So Agnete moved in. And her level 8 painting skill wasn't something to be sneezed at either, as it means she can begin sculpting sooner.

Postmakeover Agnete.

With Agenete's money, Edwina is able to start working on her house. At the moment, it's rather sparse and actually only contains the bare necessities, but it already displays its two signature styles that I'm considering making a running theme - the black-and-white exterior and the antique-ish interior.

Exterior of the Dynasty house.

Interior at the moment. Agnete's bedroom is the classical soft brown, while Edwina's is the classical soft lilac.

Sculpting station for Agnete in the backyard.

The next days, the two girls are busy skilling. Edwina is in the garden. I want gardening to be her SuperMax skill, but I also want her to max Cooking, so she can be the Ambrosia-maker. She has also registered as a self-employed gardener.

One day at the library - who do you think is enjoying it the most, Madison VanWatson or Sam Sekemoto?

Outside the grocery shop, Edwina saw something interesting one day.

Jared Frio fits her criteria wonderfully. A) single. B) not a vampire (yet). C) not the most obvious choice ever. When faced with a guy like that, Edwina knew that she had to take her chance and she rushed to randomly attack the poor guy with questions about his starsign. Is love in the air?

Because of my fear of him turning into a vampire or anything else unnatural, I rushed to add Jared to the household. Luckily, he was not bitten or anything else when he agreed.

Jared after his makeover, though I didn't touch much of his head. Those horrible sideburns, though, had to go.

Edwina's garden is coming along nicely. She is at around level 8 in both the gardening and the cooking skill and she already completed one of the gardening skill challenges.

This picture is a couple of simdays old. More green in her garden now.

Soon enough, Agnete's adult birthday came about and all three of them took a break off from skilling (Jared has taken up fishing) to have grape-pancakes for breakfast made by our very own Edwina.

Agnete isn't too pleased to be an Adult now. She looked horrified through all the sparkles and immediately got a Mid-Life Crisis. I guess she wasn't too pleased about spending her last days as a Young Adult in front of the sculpting station... ahem...

Jared laughed all the way through like a maniac, due to his Inappropriate trait I suppose.

Luckily, he pulled himself together for a little romantic time with Edwina. They are going steady now.

These two are just cute together. D'aww...

I'm not approaching this challenge as a speed challenge and will instead focus on gameplay, so I'm taking it slow. I want to wait for their marriage as well as children for a while, just because it's really hectic at the house right now and a nooboo would be trouble.

Jared's new makeover looks nice. He is actually quite handsome.

I know, right? It's only his nose... from the side, it doesn't look too good...

I love the original towns! Thanks and I hope it'll be fun!

What's Jared's Danish name?

Jared. The game has only changed some names. Sometimes it's the spelling (Kornelia instead of Cornelia), sometimes it's only one of the names (Mortimer Spøgh instead of Mortimer Goth), sometimes it's everything (Agnete Rynkebund instead of Agnes Crumplebottom) and sometimes it's nothing at all (Claire Ursine, Jared Frio).

It's a bit confusing and seems rather random. However, families that appeared in one of the two previous games will almost always have at least something changed because almost every family in Sims 1 and 2 had translated names.

Edwina is now at level 10 Gardening, level 4 in the Gardening career and having completed one skill challenge from the skill journal and one opportunity with another underway, I'm feeling pretty positive that I'll be able to get her all done for Ambrosia in time.

Agnete is missing around 5 ice sculptures before she can make Edwina's Young Adult sculpture and she has already painted the portrait. I'm not that focused on making it very valuable either, so I won't be doing various attempts unless I have spare time and feel like it. I won't make it a requirement that they should be masterpieces.

Jared is also fitting in well, he's at level 8 fishing and has begun catching vampire fish, which makes for excellent fertilizer in Edwina's garden. So all in all, he's proving pretty great despite his bad traits. However... sometimes...

Alone in the kitchen in the middle of the night, eating a bowl of ice cream in his PJ's.

Here we have Agnete cheering on a magician at Summerhill Pond. Actually, he was such a talented magician that he sunk into the ground and still continued doing his tricks.

Guess who finally whipped up a ring for our pretty founder. They make such an adorable couple. Jared finally asked Edwina to be his lady-love and proposed. They are now engaged and spend as much time with each other as possible.

The day after their engagement, Jared aged up to Adult a lot more confidently than Agnete had done. He didn't get a Mid-Life Crisis either.

I'm pretty comfortable about everything so far, I feel like I have enough time to make everything go smoothly. My only concern is the Gardening profession, I'm afraid of the money she has to earn. To max the Gardening profession, it is required to make 80.000 from selling your own produce. This is only achievable with money trees, and while I have made her plant a lot of special seeds found around Sunset Valley, as well as the death flower from the cemetery, I'm still a bit anxious about that. However, I'm sure it'll fix itself in time!

Death flowers are not worth anything actually. You need them but they aren't valuable.

Do you have University? If so, grow Red Berry Beans. You can buy them at the supermarket.

I know they're not worth anything. But since special plants take quite a bit of time to grow up, I like to be in good time. Also, no. I've planted all the plants available from the supermarket in my game. I have all expansions until University actually. I plan on getting University, Island Paradise and Into the Future soon, but I won't install Into the Future before I'm done with the dynasty (due to the bug with opportunities).

Congrats on the engagement and to Edwina for maxing gardening.

Thanks a lot!
