Catfish For The Chef

I am playing the sims3 on the ps3 and I accepted an opportunity catfish for chef. where I have to bring a alley cat fish to work and give it to the chef. I have the catfish in my inventory when I go to work and it is still there when I get home from work, I click on the restaurant one map but it doesn't give me the option of giving the cat fish to the chef and then it says that I fail to give the catfish to the chef once the time has past can someone help me with please and thank you.

Is it definitely in your sims inventory not your household inventory? And some opportunities you may have to wait a few days before you can fulfil them as they are not all available every day.
