Anyone have anymore tips or stories about 5 star celebrity life?
If you have 5000 lifetime happiness points to spare, get the lifetime reward "legendary host", then host a few parties and invite as many celebrities as you can (the more stars the better). Since you get a whole bunch of relationship points with everybody that comes to the party (and everyone invited will come because of legendary host), you get up to 5 stars in no time. Having the charisma skill also helps, since some of those skill challenges will speed up relationship gain even more (e.g. push a new friendship to best friend right away).

Does anyone know how to completely remove Celebrity status from my Sims? It was cool at first, all access to fancy clubs, free stuff (She got a free car, for goodness sake!) and all that, but the Paparazzi are annoying and the fact that Mary and Vladimir keep getting publicly disgraced for biting people and blowing their own stuff up in their backyard (One is an inventor) is a bit much.

Mary is 5 stars, Vladimir 3, and their daughter got 3 stars instantly on aging to Child just for being their child. Anyone know how they can slide from celebrity back into obscurity?

Thanks in advance,
Chester

I do not believe you can slide back into obscurity. (Please correct me if I am wrong!)

You can turn off the opportunity calls, which shuts up the agent. Or you can take one of the broken opportunities and that stops the agent calls as well.

You just have to live with the paparazzi. One of my sims tried making friends with them and it didn't help. Then he bought his own camera and started taking their picture. Didn't help. Now my celeb sims just ignore them. They are nothing more than annoying insects.

That said, it is entirely possible to move through the game without gaining or chasing celebrity status. Several of my sims have done so. Of course I have a few that pursued it with a passion.

All in all, I like what celebrity status brings to the game. It adds another level of complexity regardless of what goals your sim might have.

Thanks for the reply.

I overall like the Celebrity features and what they bring to the game, but I'm looking for a way to at the very least stop future generations of my family from getting famous automatically upon growing to Child. I can live with it for one generation and their daughter, because they'll eventually die and I'll play with the new generation, but I'd prefer it didn't continue past that.

Any more feedback would be appreciated.

Architectural Career is a great way to boost celebrity status without doing anything more than your day job. The rich and famous have the money to pay for the renovations, and as meeting celebrities boosts celebrity status ... voila! My Sim is level 3 without doing a single opportunity.

He's now up to 5, having completed 1 opportunity. He's also got 5 best friends (all clients).

I found that seducing celebrities helps a lot as well, my sim got a boost just from having a WooHoo with a 5 Star Celeb which got her to a Level 4.

The way to get to the highest celebrity level is to get some of the level 4 & 5 celebrities to at least Best Friend level.

Some of the gifts you can get are really nice , my sim got the best car for free  ;D

I got 3 stars for cheating on my wife with a celebrity, got caught by the paparazzi. :(

I feel evil- I'm going to go back. There may be two screaming babies, but she deserves better from me. Hopefully she'll accept my apology.

I should be able to keep my 3 stars too if I break up with the celebrity.

I did the same thing. All you meet are celebs and if you hang out for a little bit after showing the client you meet all the celebs they live with too. I leveled up to a 5 with in a few hours of playing. I only impressed 1 sim and I think that was before I started my job. I recently switched to the acting career. I would imagine that would do the same.

Hmm .... I just noticed that my sims that don't have the Star Quality trait don't get the negative moodlet from bad press, even though they are celebs. Anyone confirm this?

Maybe I leveled up so quick from all the bad press!

I peed myself once in public (the bouncer wouldn't let me in the club in time),
and I passed out on the way home from the clubs 3 or 4 times ... (it seems to take FOREVER to get anywhere).
And I had things repo'd.

And I was wrongfully accused twice and sued.

Haha hard to say what happened at what level. I screwed up so many times. I don't think i was wrongfully accused until 4.

The peeing in public (first time) I was a 2 because I had to bribe the bouncer to get in the club.

The rest probably happened at every level. But it was quick leveling up.... in a matter of a few hours play time.

So I've read about that celebrities can get impressed by the (large) amount of money you have. The 'problem' is that my legacy-generation family has over 15.8000 dollar in hard cash. Will they increase to fast in star rating or do they still need to impress the celebrities in another way?
Besides that, having so much money (from selling nectar at the conseignment shop, not by cheating) is a bit boring. Are there in Late Night new ways to 'waste' ylur money, or to invest in?

I haven't tried this feature, but supposedly there are more venues Sims can buy in Bridgeport. Make friends by buying loads of rounds at the bar.  It really is hard to blow that much money, after all. The cost of food in a swank lounge can be like $1500 for a group serving. That'll get some of that money out of your Sim's pocket.

On the other question, I think that having a lot of money and bragging on it, maybe even twice, might get you in good with a celebrity. I think that would be its only perk. But that's a surefire way to impress one of them so you can carry on with the tactics you'd usually use to befriend or romance a Sim.
