Does celebrity make Sim got only celebrity opportunity? It happen in my game. I played in SV and accidentally become celebrity when I became friend with the boss of my career which is a 1-star celebrity. After that, all opportunities I got is the 4 hour workout celebrity opportunity, not even a single skill opportunity. It really trouble me a lot because I want to get Gardening skill opportunity that give you an ability to grow special crops.

My sim is a 5-star celeb and even though he gets a lot of celeb opportunities, he still gets skill-based and job-based ops as well.

I did the same thing. All you meet are celebs and if you hang out for a little bit after showing the client you meet all the celebs they live with too. I leveled up to a 5 with in a few hours of playing. I only impressed 1 sim and I think that was before I started my job. I recently switched to the acting career. I would imagine that would do the same.

I feel like all I meet in Bridgeport are celebs and vamps (and celebrity vampires).  I think they may have gone overboard with the celeb and vamp populations.  I thought they would be harder to find.  But they are everywhere!

I agree, there are more Celebs than normal Sims!

Not just in Bridgeport, but all of the other neighborhoods as well.

Question: Do you become a celebrity in any of the career fields? Like the acting one? Or the photographer? Why is it my Sim is a sports legend but not a celebrity? I apologize if this has been answered already.

Only in the film career track will you end up inevitably becoming a celebrity, as far as I know. The reason is that the co-workers in film are all celebs, and the boss is always a level 5. Actors even get a take headshots work tone that will earn some celebrity points while on the clock.

In the film industry, being a celebrity is required as part of the work metric, but any Sim can become a celebrity just by associating with other celebrities.  My entire Dreamweaver Dynasty family are celebrities of various levels without even trying.

Thanks guys. My husband  changed  his career to film. He was getting stars just by meeting people but I liked him in the sports career and would have liked him to become a celebrity sports player. As I had said in another thread, my boyfriend and I are playing our family together and he seems to be stuck on wanting celeb status through his job. Oh well at least he gets to still sign autographs from being a sports legend. And there are sports players who become actors right? :)

My actor sim has a 3-star-celebrity as boss.

I can confirm that, first time boss was 5 star celeb, but second time it was just a regular Sim, not even 1 star celeb.

And Architect, although that is a profession rather than a career track. You literally cannot avoid becoming a 5 star celebrity (at least if you are playing Bridgeport you can't) as almost all the available jobs are for celebrities homes and their friendship level with you increases while you are still registered as an Architect, even if you have no contact with them for a week!

I haven't tried this feature, but supposedly there are more venues Sims can buy in Bridgeport. Make friends by buying loads of rounds at the bar.  It really is hard to blow that much money, after all. The cost of food in a swank lounge can be like $1500 for a group serving. That'll get some of that money out of your Sim's pocket.

On the other question, I think that having a lot of money and bragging on it, maybe even twice, might get you in good with a celebrity. I think that would be its only perk. But that's a surefire way to impress one of them so you can carry on with the tactics you'd usually use to befriend or romance a Sim.

I was thinking about that again. I can also just ignore the Lifetime Reward that will make that sims don't have to pay their bills anymore. They have a basement full of nectar racks the taxes are high. That way money will flow out of the house faster than it comes in. And I still have to pay the staff of course... Hmmm, that way the game stay still be a challenge for me.

In my game this NPC townie Ryan Atkins was initially a Paparazzi with a 1-star celebrity level. After a few Sim days of meeting him I found him as a Mixologist at The Brightmore with no celeb star ranking. Could this be a bug or can a change in profession reverse one's star status? I'm confused.  :o

Oh that is great. I would rather do Architect than Film right now. Does anyone know if this celebrity thing is limited to BP only? I am playing in Riverview and I haven't seen any celebrities yet. I know there won't be any celebrity housing but if I put in some party spots will they pop up as homeless people? Anyone experience or know?
