I found an easy way to get your celebrity stars to 5. I don't know if anyone else has done this or how you boosted your stars, so I will share mine.

I moved my Sim in with a 5 star celebrity (Matthew Hamming), and they hit it off after a few days and became best friends. That boosted her 1 star, then from doing romantic social actions that gave her another 2 stars. The proposal led to another star and the marriage, then meeting his best friend led to her having 5 total celebrity stars.

I also think there is a glitch when your agent calls. There were a few times where I was called to do a book signing at the bookstore. Every time I tried to send her to the bookstore it would not send her or the box would just disappear. I finally figured out that they kept trying to send her to the bookstore in Sunset Vally, and since you can't, at least from what I know, I had to ignore the opportunity.

Anyone have anymore tips or stories about 5 star celebrity life?

My tip for 5-star celeb life?

DO NOT TRY IT.

Seriously! I've been playing Riverview, this Immortal Dynasty story, and my founding Immortal, Etna Disgaea, is a 4-star celeb and WILL NOT BE LEFT ALONE! When she goes downtown to try to make friends, people come up and demand that she pose for a photo on their cells! Then her agent calls over and over and gives her the same stupid opportunities, meaning she can't top her career in sculpting... and don't tell me about the blasted parties she has to go to! ARGH!

Trust me, if you see someone as a celeb, run FAR AWAY so you don't turn into one!

Etna, though, loves all the attention. Let's see how she likes it when she's old and incontinent.  :P

(I know I can just refuse or let rot the ops, but I can't because they give my Sim celebrity points and much need cash. Oh, did I mention the constant barrage of unnecessary gifts they get in their family inventory... and my her son just became a 1-star celeb just by getting himself sculpted! KILL ME NOW!  :'(

I am not discouraging anyone from this, but trust me - it's far more trouble than it's worth in my experience. Maybe when I do a 26-kids challenge where the parents don't have to work, I might enjoy it.)

What I hate about it is the opportunities..it seems as if I am getting the same ones over and over. When my Sim was at a party another celebrity wanted to take her picture, which was ok but for some reason they had to go all the way to the first floor completely away from the party to do it-then travel back up. That was stupid in my opinion. The gifts are ok until you get the same ones over and over. I think my Sims have 4 pianos and 6 guitars, and that does not include the ones in their home already.

I do like reading the papers after n major event in my Sim's life. The articles are cute.

It might be a little full-on, but surely celebrity status can't be too different from how it's portrayed in the expansion pack than how it is in the real world? Constant recognition, avoiding paparazzi, having their whole lives devoted to maintaining their celebrity status, that sort of thing. I think it's just trying to add a bit more realism to the game. That's just my opinion; to be honest I posted because I was a little tickled by this:

Trust me, if you see someone as a celeb, run FAR AWAY so you don't turn into one!

Surely, there's another kind of demographic introduced by the expansion pack which would be better described by this? Haha.

Just wondering, do celebs appear in all towns? Like how many default celebrities are there?

That's why celebrities have those gates around their houses.  :D

My sim resorted to peeking in windows so they'd come outside. Then she would pester them until some of that celebrity status rubbed off on her.

I did see celebrities in Sunset when I was playing around. I had to build a bar there...though I'm not sure what all those types are on the commercial zone list.

I never gave Sunset Vally a chance to show me  :D, I just went ahead and bulldozed the Landgraab and Alto homes to add some of the things from Bridgepoint to it. I also had some celebrities saved into my library that I just placed in random homes all over. I also had to add the film job site to Sunset Valley because they did not have it.

Again I hooked Tom Wordy up with my 5 star celebrity sim and he got his 5Th star for being her boyfriend.

@bde1225, those are great tips. Thanks. And timely tips too for my Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous walkthrough I hope to give Carl soon. My main character got to level 4 pretty easily, but seemed to hit a brick wall after that. I'll have him make the moves on one of the band members (a 5 star Celeb).

The best friend she met at the wedding was a 4 star celebrity. I thought I would mention that since I forgot to in that initial post.

I had my sim reach level 5 in less than 2 weeks without pushing hard, she has the diplomacy skill (was still far from maxed) and is attractive, so everytime she tried to impress a celebrity, she became a friend instantly.

In mine, they keep trying to send me to the Bistro, I thought, wait, Bridgeport doesn't have a Bistro, lol.  You do have to cancel a few opportunities, but, that is the case in some of the other jobs or professions as well.  So far, I really like playing my two stars.  One is a vampire and the other one her daughter, which has five stars.  I guess to each their own, but there is always going to be little hangups somewhere in these games.  I love it. ;D

True, this game truly has something for everyone. I have not played all the professions yet, so I don't know this for sure, I have never gotten any other opportunities I could not do. I just noticed it here. It took me 5 times to get it before I figured out that bridgeport does not have the exact same things. I am a little slow catching things.  ;D

Has anyone done any traveling to different countries to see how they acted towards a celebrity sim? Like will they get better options or completely different ones because they are celebrities? ???

Let me know if you have. :D

The celebrity stuff can be pretty annoying if you are trying to do other things. But as someone said, it pretty well follows celebrity status IRL. The agent is the most annoying factor to me. I can see why they added the turn off opportunity call option in this edition.

It can be avoided though. I started a scientist sim in Bridgeport just to see if you could do it. He is doing just fine, going about his business and letting all that other stuff float on by.

Titus was probably referring to Charisma.
