I can beat all of you. Christmas, last year. Got World Adventures. Spent all of Christmas day, the next day, and a good chunk of the night playing Sims, with only short breaks for food and bathroom. My total? Somewhere in the range of 38 hours. Thought I had that posted somewhere else here, guess I didn't. Sometimes insomnia is your friend :D

While I don't spend days upon days playing Sims, I do obsess over some Sims for no reason. I've found myself writing 5-page biographies about my Sims, and due to these Biographies, my Sims have colorful personalities. Don't think I'm crazy when I say this... When I invite Sims that don't inhabit my household to parties, I hug my screen. Literally. Sometimes, I draw my Sims. The walls of my room are completely littered with pictures of Sims, past and present.

Hi, I'm Marian. I'm addicted enough to have read this entire thread just now, and to be cross with myself because I could have been working on Jack and Jill Boomer. I started with the Sims 1 about 4 years ago and thought about getting Sims 3 when it first came out. My computer wasn't up to it, however, so I got Sims 2 instead and had a great time with them, eventually getting all the expansion packs. Then the Sims Medieval came out. Three days after it appeared, I dragged my husband to Best Buy, and we came home with a new laptop and TSM. I came across this website while playing TSM, and somehow found out about legacies. So about a month ago I got Sims 3 and Ambitions, and then World Adventures. With all the glitches, I still love the game. My favorite moment was when my private investigator was staking out someone in a park. When she put up the bushes, I laughed out loud -- all I could think of was Birnam Wood. And then when she complained about the poison ivy, I lost it. My cats and my husband would definitely say I'm addicted.

Hello, I'm Mya, I'm a sims addict.
A long time ago, I was at my step sister's house and she was playing the sims 2. After that I begged my mother for a month to get it, but instead I got sims 1. I adored it. Then I got sims 2. I would obsess over it, and start playing around 8 am on weekends lol. I would have to be forced off the computer. Then on one of my families, I got a horrible glitch. Stopped playing until I heard rumors of a sims 3. I eventually got it, and now I'm addicted all over again.
I know a few other sims addicts, they help me get through this lol.  :D

I just found myself standing on a chair with a blanket draped over my shoulders. Obviously, I did this out of aspirational failureboredom, but I thought I'd put it here anyway.

Hello all my name is Jen and I'm a Sims addict! It all started about three... or is that four (?) years ago when I recieved The Sims Deluxe Edition for my birthday. I played it non-stop until I received Sims 2 the next year. And, of course, I forced my parents to get me Sims 3 the day it came out! I play pretty much every day and the game helps distract me from some personal issues I've experienced. Sims is my LIFE!

I'm such an addict that when I go to see my girls for 3 weeks this summer, I am going to have serious withdrawal symptoms that will be worse than quitting smoking. I'm already started to feel them, because I leave in 2 weeks.

Ok, here goes.

Hi, my name is Pam, but you can call me Pam or Pam.  I've been a Sims addict for a little over a year.

I had vaguely heard of Sims before Sims 3 came out, but not enough to know anything about it or to play it.  I used to work for JayIsGames.com and the Spore release was causing a lot of excitement on that site.  I remember part of the marketing was that it was made by the same people who made Sims.  The thing that got me really interested was a blog called Alice and Kev, which was completely fascinating.  I bought Sims 3 as a direct result of that blog.  I didn't realize it had just been released!

It was a whole new world for me and, naturally, it didn't take long before I needed help.  I did an internet search and found Carl's Guide.  It was very helpful.  He had comments set up on the Guide itself at the time.  Because of my experience on JIG, I offered to help manage the comments.  Very shortly after that, we launched the Forum and I started helping with the Guide.  It was absolutely perfect for me because by that time, I was completely hooked on the game.  Now I have an excuse to play it all day and all night.  My husband started playing it a few months ago and so now I share it with him on his days off.  The Forum and Guide are also the perfect excuse to purchase every expansion pack and every stuff pack.  It's a lovely arrangement for a Sims addict!  :D

Oh my god I could have wrote that post lol, I had dabbled in sims 2 but not much, I borrowed the base game off a friend, but didn't really get into it.

Then she posted a link to the Kev and Alice blog and it made me go out and buy TS3.

Then I googled TS3 question and found this site and this board

I have it installed on my PC and laptop and partners laptop (his runs it better than mine) and once a week our friends come over or we go there and play sims together, so I have two games running, one on laptop for when I am at friends house and one on PC for when she comes here

Aw I love this thread!
Hi my name is Esther and I am addicted to The Sims. I have been playing them since they first came out. My favorite one has always been Makin' Magic. Where I used to live it was really hard to get them, a very poor country but my aunt sended them too me and I am very grateful for that. I find myself doing chores so my mom can give me money and buy me the every Expansion Pack and Stuff Pack there is. I do think my Sims live a lofe more interesting than mine  ;D. I still go to school so I need to balance grades and play. But I love The Sims no matter how many glitches or how many computers I have to get.

Hi. I'm Sophie and I'm a Sims addict.
My brother got Sims City when I was young, I think we were about 7 or 8. We also got Sims 2 for the PlayStation 2, but the disk got scratched. SimCity is still working though, my brother plays it a lot.
My friend told me about the Sims 3. She was addicted and did nothing but. Her life was like: School, homework, Sims3, eat, sleep, repeat. She said it was great so my brother and I gave it a try. My brother soon got bored. All he did was reach level ten of a career, get rich, romance all the townie women, particularly the rich ones, get married, have kids, divorce, kick wife and kids out, remarry, repeat, delete file. But I stayed loyal and became addicted. :)
