Interesting Problem
« on: January 09, 2015, 12:37:08 PM »
So I have come across this issue in my Sims 3 game, and now in seasons where the textures/fabric of some clothing items don't load and are just the Sims torso, for the Men only. Both instances are with stock clothing from Sims 3 and Seasons. The Sims 3 issue- the business suit/formal wear suit jacket buttoned closed- shirt-tie: the shirt color loads, but the jacket and tie are the Sims chest and arms. Seasons-The sweatshirt/hoodie non zip-up outerwear shirt color loads, sweatshirt is Sims torso. Is there anything that can fix this? I've tried changing the main color or pattern to both and it just stays the chest and arms morphed over what should be the sleeves and body of the jackets.

I've seen this before as well, happened to me with a genie's outfit and also a martial arts one, it's a bit freaky to look at.

Have you tried clearing out your cache files?

In case you don't know look in your Documents/The sims 3 directory and delete the following

CASPartCache.package
scriptCache.package
compositorCache.package
simCompositorCache.package

Also if you are playing in a store or custom world you can delete the caches in the WorldCaches folder as well. That might solve your issue.

Hi! I went through and cleared all the cache files etc and disabled all custom content that may be causing the issue and still the weird "Skin suit" happens..

That is strange, unfortunately when it happened to me I didn't really look into sorting it out as I wasn't continuing those games.

I guess the next thing to try would be a factory reset to see if it helps.

The first time I had it was at the very end of a long immortal dynasty game, that save was full of issues so when I made one of my elders young again I wasn't overly surprised to find him wearing a skin suit for his martial arts outfit, I have since reinstalled the game and not seen it happen again. I'd try the factory reset though, sometimes it's hard to figure out what file is causing an issue so a fresh my docs folder often helps.

So I backed up everything and wound up uninstalling then reinstalling then did a quick test on CAS with all CC disabled from the launcher and the Skin Suit is gone. I am going to do a test run with CC enabled to check if it was something that was added conflicting.
Thanks for the tips! :) Good to know I wasn't the only one to run into the creepy skin suit issue.

Glad you got it sorted, I guess somewhere some files get corrupted so perhaps a reinstall is the best option, I know that is what I did but for various reasons not just this skin issue.
