Sunset Valley Vs. Moonlight Falls
« on: January 05, 2015, 06:37:30 PM »
I was wondering which town is more interesting to play as.  In Sunset Valley the Goth family is pretty much at the start of the long family line I think with Mortimer goth being a child, not sure.  I also like the idea of playing as sims in the 1950's, do you get time appropriate clothing for that?

I'd say Moonlight Falls, but it's because I was never interested in Sunset Valley, and MF is based on the Pacific Northwest, which is like a second home to me in real-life.

The clothing you get with Supernatural is old-fashioned, but not necessarily 50's.

Moonlight Falls for sure, there are much more interesting-looking sims and the town is gorgeous.

Sunset Valley because I love Aggie's original hairstyle and I dislike the references to Twilight that came in with Moonlight Falls and the Supernatural expansion pack

Also, I didn't notice that this was in the General Discussion section, when it should be in Towns and Townies instead. I'm moving it there. :)

I like both towns for different reasons. Playing in Sunset Valley is like going home. I know everyone, where to find everything, and I do like the sims there. It's fun with supernaturals set on to see who will change to what. I guess Moonlight Falls is like going home in a way too. It's patterned after the Olympic Peninsula of my home state. La Push becomes La Shove for example. I try very had not to associate it with Twilight. It's a beautiful town, but my computer doesn't always like loading my home lot there. I have to remove some of the abundant trees if I want a garden, and I always want a garden.

I'm currently trying to decide between these two myself. For those of you who have played both, which town has the prettiest townies for a legacy?

Moonlight Falls for sure. Pretty Sims - Fawn Goodfellow, Sophie Rogers, Emelie Van Gould, Mara Nix, and even Bailey Swain (hate to admit it) are quite pretty. In the homeless townie department - Titania and Oberon Summerdream, as well as Carmella Hai. And if you get rid of the nose, Hetal Anjali is actually quite cute.

EDIT: Frida Goth of the Goth Ghosts is actually very pretty although she had a weirdish nose, as is Violet Slymer if you tone down her nostril sliders. The Durwood kids, Faith and Felicity MacDuff, Marigold Maldano (she had weird lips but other than that is gorgeous), Miriam Hoppcraft, Janet Pok, and Alice Fitzgerald are some of my other favorites.

Thank you, Lisa46! I think I will try Moonlight Falls as suggested. Are there as many attractive male sims?

I find Chauncey Grimm, Dayvid Musgrave, Malcolm Harris (get rid of his purple hair) and Gladsten Farmwell quite attractive. But yes there are a lot more attractive females than males. Zach Durwood is of course really attractive, and even Malcolm Harris. There are also some sort of attractive male ghosts.

Jules MacDuff actaully has some good genes (as well as bad ones). I'd tone down his ears first though. And be warned that the MacDuff face shape is not going anywhere for a while. Those genes are strong!

If you want to delve into the pool of homeless male townies, Nicholas Wickerman cleans up fantastically well too.

I can't say the same about Sunset Valley's homeless. They all look like they were made by pressing random once.

I feel like Moonlight Falls has unique facial structures for a lot more sims than Sunset Valley does. All the sims that I like, they aren't only pretty, but they all have very different facial shapes and structures, which can lead to some interesting sims.
