15,000 Simoleon Gigantic Space Rock.

I was digging with my miner when I found a 3 by 2 Gigantic Space rock with a value of 3000 dollars. After I finished I analyzed it and and it went up to 15000 dollars has anyone ever found something like this?

I've never found anything that valuable with the miner - not even close.  Nice find!

Some of my Sim's garden decoratives are 3 meteorite piles, which I made stacking the rocks with moveobjects and spinning some of them, it looks really nice. I need 1 more gigantic meteor to complete it. The large and small piles are all done. And yes, each gigantic meteor goes from 8k to 21k as I can tell.

My main Sim, Star, had a wish to find 50 gems, and then another wish to find 50 metals with his miner, and I ended up with 4 or 5 gigantic space rocks.  I should have kept track of how much they were worth, but was just surprised by the sheer size having never found anything bigger than a large space rock from collecting.  Those miners look to be pretty lucrative.  In a single day he could drill 3 or 4 holes, and usually found a handful of different items in each hole.  Got a lot of scrap, but I had nearly all gems before I even began to start looking for them with the collection helper.  The pink diamond I cut for his Simbot's heart was found with the miner.  Found a bunch of soulpiece gems with that thing too.

I got both my Palladium and my pink diamond from it I had every metal collected and two thirds of the gems

I wonder how did that big meteor land on the ground! lol if such a meteor hit the ground almost a city was a hole

My main concern is how you get it up the hole in the first place?

Also has anyone questioned where the stuff you find in the hole comes from, I mean last time I went digging I found a couch and two lights.

What is a miner? Is that a skill something that comes with World Adventures? I swear I really need to consider getting that darn EP.

The miner is a gadget that you can build when you do inventing, so it came with Ambitions.  You can find them at the consignment store quite often.

It's really great if you are using a collector sim and I've been doing some tests on exactly how great it is. I get a lot more gems and other materials per hour then using the collection helper and the gems are usually much rarer also.

Oh ok. So that's good. I have Ambitions. And I have an inventive teen. I don't know how to make a 'collector' Sim. In fact I think all the children are collecting something. The girls are doing butterflies I believe and the boys are doing rocks and meteors. Is there a method to making a collector Sim in the guide? Or a thread? Do the collect to sell? My problem is that when they collect something I don't want to let it go. I have a room full of bugs and gems. Thank goodness this is a game because I think I would go up the wall if I had a room full of bugs for real.

A collector Sim is just one who collects those things.  No special traits or skills are needed.  Having a Collection Helper is great, too.
