I had that same dilemma. I put it as "visitors allowed" and it seems to work fine.

I made a quick Club in my Legacy game and it worked fine apart from Jerry bribed the Bouncer and then she said he didn't need to...  :-\

Thanks, pallyndrome. I tried it and it worked.

But you know, this is incredibly frustrating. You have to put those Bridgeport community lots to Sunset Valley manually. I swear, it took me some time to do that and then when I tried my sims to enter the building they couldn't because of some blockage.
Argh...
Why didn't they do it like Ambitions--all the new venues are there when you load the community.  >:(

They all seem to be too big to fit anywhere with empty spaces and I don't like buldozing peoples houses.  :-\

Probably because it's a lot of venues to add to a town.  I wouldn't want my Sunset Valley overrun with bars and lounges.  That's why we have Bridgeport.

I agree Pam.  I wouldn't want all that stuff in my SV or RV.  Some of it, yes, but Bridgeport is meant to be party central.  Not my cup of tea, I've already ranted about the "mudscape" atmosphere of Bridgeport, but I eventually will give it a better try.  I do love the new stuff though!  You should see my enhanced legacy house!

I found to my dismay that I couldn't install a fountain, pool, or hot tub up high unless I first removed everything from the floor beneath them, and even then it was dicey.  Why I was thinking a pool wouldn't need to be sunken is beyond me.

Anyone try putting that ginormous fish window in a basement?  Can you say instant aquarium?  No more futzing around with a pool, then all the other stuff.  Just plug and watch.  Looks great.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

I agree about the fish tank, it is great and you can feed them digital food, lol.  I had a sim watch the fish and got the message, something about them not being real fish, that was cute.

In RV, at least, I converted the Juice bar to a dive bar, went in and added a bar in place of the juice bars already in place, a dartboard and a shuffleboard table.  The warehouse I converted to a dance venue and made the second floor a VIP area.  The pool club next door became a pool bar.  Then I dropped the pre-made fusion bar out in the boonies.  I figured 4 bars was enough for Riverview.  The big 60x60 lot in the middle of nowhere got the studio.

Btw, if anyone is building new nightclubs, note that you can change which Sims will be allowed in by the bouncer.  Just shift-control click on the velvet ropes while in build mode.

Here's a screenshot of the hot tub and fish window in the basement of my Dynasty house.

Really?  I haven't bought Late Night yet (I will leave it for somebody to buy me as a birthday or Christmas present), but when I do, I won't be playing Bridgeport until I have completed my Legacy (in Sunset Valley).  At the rate I'm currently going, that'll be two years!  :P  I really liked the way I could just plop the new community lots down from Ambitions, and would definitely like to add a few from Late Night.  Any suggestions as to which ones would bring the most 'flavour' to the neighbourhood?  I'm probably more interested in playing with the celebrity side of things than vampires, but I'd like to give myself the ability to explore both.

Wow, thanks.  I did not know that and I just got through answering someones post about that too.  I guess I was wrong and will have to try that.  I probably read that somewhere and was just too excited to play the game to remember everything I read.  :D

I did that but it failed or else my Sim was allowed to go in normally anyway, but since it was the only club it was really busy, not to mention it was a really bad club...  :)

How to fit all the new buildings in my town? (Sunset Valley)
« Reply #28 on: October 30, 2010, 08:53:01 PM »
I've recently started to play Late Night. I don't want to leave Sunset Valley and I'd like to put all the fancy clubs and bars in it. The main problem is space :/ It's really hard to find a spot for a 64x64 lot to put the biggest clubs. An another problem with SV - it has many mountains. Is there a way to level them to the ground?
Another question is about apartments - how do I make them? I put one of those new apratment buildings and I could only fit 6 sims in it. It's like 30 stories high and 6 sims max? That's a bit odd. What's up with apartments? :/
