Patch equals twins??
« on: December 18, 2014, 01:09:35 AM »
Just wondering if this is just me but I have had 4 pregnancies since installing the patch.  Every single one was twins and I had not had any twins before the patch.  Is there some kind of force twins turned on?  I love big families in Sims but this is ridiculous!!  Its like this patch installed super fertility on everyone.

I've only had one pregnancy sense the patch but it was twins also. And also my first set of twins. And neither sim has the fertility reward.

I started a legacy attempt right after the patch.  The first pregnancy resulted in only one infant, but the second turned out to be triplets!  There was no fertility award involved, either.  So single births are still possible, but they might have changed the chance of multiples.  It could also be statistical blips, like getting a lot of one gender or the other.

Oh, the triplets are identical, and 2/3 of them aged up with the same hairstyle as their older sister.  I normally just go with whatever the game randomly assigns to children, but I needed to change hairstyles to tell the four girls apart.  The older sister has a different face and eye shape, but the same hair and eye colour, as the triplets.

Just had another birth and it was a single child. So maybe it was just luck of the draw you had so many twins in a row.

As a follow up to the note about having a single birth, then triplets: the next pregnancy in that family resulted in twins and filled the household.

I started another file as a test, and had three sets of twins in a row - one identical, two fraternal.

I usually play large families.  Before the patch, I'd had one set of twins out of over twenty pregnancies.  It could still be a statistical blip, but that's a lot of babies in a short period of time.

I got my first set of twins too yesterday, never had multiples in the sims 4 before (maybe not even in the sims 3). It seems a little bit odd that so many twins are being born all of a sudden. It could very well be that they changed something about the chance of having multiple babies, since they've changed a lot of stuff that wasn't in the patch notes (unfortunately). I would like to read about it, so that I know what is different.

Mine were identical too. I kinda liked that I got twins, but I don't want to have multiple babies every time (or most of the time for that matter), so let's hope it's just a coincidence.

I have had three more pregnancies, 1 was a single and the other 2 were twins.  They must have changed the probability for twins with the patch, which I'm not actually happy with.

Every birth for me since the patch has resulted in twins; three sets now!

My first birth since installing the patch has also resulted in twins. My best guess is that they've fiddled with the likelihood of multiples to make them more likely. I personally prefer more singletons, than multiples, though not having toddlers with toddler skills to learn makes raising kids about a million times easier so I guess I'll deal with it. :P

While searching on another problem, I came upon this and thought I'd share.

Non-Stop twins and triplets
http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/12/non-stop-twins-and-triplets/

It doesn't sound like there is a fix at the moment. But if you're willing to use a mod, there is a mod to "fix" the problem for the time being.

Since the patch I have had four pregnancies that all resulted in twins. Two of the four pregnancies were with the same couple and the other two were with different couples in different households. Getting somewhat annoying, too many screaming little ones! Argghhhh~!!

Just going to add to the chorus here: I've had three pregnancies since the patch. All twins. One identical, two fraternal.

I'm putting my trust in this mod at the moment, though I play at a rather slow pace so it could be a while before I have enough pregnancies to be able to say whether or not it worked.

With the mod installed I have had three pregnancies, no fertility rewards.  3 singles and one set of twins. So far it seems to be working.
