Teen sim won't do her homework

Hi friends
I have a teen sim living on her own (nraas) for a runaway challenge. At this point, she has a little house with some salvaged furniture. Today I asked her to get out her homework, but she just puts it down on the salvaged table and then it disappears back into her inventory. Is it possibly to do with the fact that the items are salvaged? If it is, I may have to just delete the items and she can sit on the floor for a while until she can afford new ones.

That sounds like it may be a possibility. I suppose if it continues to happen, have her sit on the floor to do her homework.
