Architectural Design issue - not counting items when turning in job

My sim did an architecture job to put in a gym addition.  I put in all the requested items, all the boxes are checked off, but when I click the button to turn in the renovation and it goes back to live mode, all the boxes are unchecked.  The client complains that I didn't even do the bare minimum, and I can't finish the job.  I've tried deleting and re-adding all the items, and reloading the game, but it just won't register the changes when I turn in the job.  Has anyone encountered this before?

I had this problem too, and the career started working again when I quit it and rejoined it. Have you tried that yet?
