Use new skills in other towns?
« on: October 27, 2010, 02:45:39 PM »
Hi, I'd like to know if it's possible to use new skills, such as the ones pertaining to celebrities, in the other towns: Sunset Valley, Riverview, etc. Do I have to build a new building for the nightclubs?

You can certainly form bands and take lessons in the band instruments in SV.  There are also celebrities to meet.  While jamming in Central Park, my 3 band members suddenly got a wish to meet a vampire, so I think there must have been a vampire nearby to trigger that wish.  But none of the new venues were placed in the game, so I guess we have to place them ourselves or build them.

Mixologist in France!  hmmm.  Paparazzi all over the place there.  Once you have any fame you are never alone.  Well, hardly ever.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

I went back to Twinbrook and put all the late night stuff in the Red Rendevous .  The bartenders are there mixing drinks and you can moonlight as a mixologist. I have had a vampire show up and paparazzi , but no celebrities yet. Also, the place use to be dead and now it's always packed with Sims ! If you buy a round of drinks it gives you a chance to try different ones, like energy and in the mood. It's a good way to try out all the features of Late Night, without having to go up and down all those crazy elevators.

Technically, you just need the actual bar item.  That is, one of the new "professional bars" that come with Late Night.  Those will automatically create a mixologist on duty.  I think it also has to be on a commercial lot which is set to type Bar or Club or Lounge, etc.

Any bar can be used to practice the mixology skill.

Celebrities and Vampires seem to appear automatically in every city.

The two 'professional bars' can be placed on your home lot.  This will allow you to practice all skills associated with them in the comfort of your own home.
