I took a look at the tutorial section for this and found out a couple additional things you can do if accused.

  • as I already mentioned, You can "Sue for Slander"
  • as I already mentioned, You can talk to others and dispel the rumors, but still end up with some time on a moodlet
  • You could pay off the paparazzi.
  • or you could "Deflect the Scandal".  This puts the moodlet onto some other star, I believe, of your choice.  I assume you would have to at least be friendly with them first though.

I will definately be trying to deflect it the next time, because that just seems like too much fun :D

They got my 5 star celebrity sim for public whoohoo in an elevator with his 5 star celebrity girlfriend. I guess he's more famous because she didn't get the scandal :P

More than just the moodlet, you also lose the benefits of being a celeb (discounts, freebies, etc.) while you are humiliated.

Yes! I cracked up when my 5 star celebrity sim went to the bubble bar and was told "It's you"! Hilarious!

Hm...

Well, this wasn't false accusation, but my barely-famous sim got a humiliated moodlet from having a divorce! It was a terrible few days as she had "Humiliated", "Broken Heart", and "Lost a Friend" all at once.

The sad thing is that she didn't even initiate the breakup!

I don't know how they do it, but even on a relaxing vacation in Egypt the paparazzi just smells the exact moment my sim get slapped by a mummy, three basements under the surface! How on earth did they find that out? They didn't even follow my sim into the pyramid, while they're normally always around, even when my sim is sleeping they just can't put their cameras away. Poor Femis King did have a bad reputation in foreign countries since...

Btw, I have even more stars than my five star sim on this forum. How comes I never been claimed for woohooing in public? :P My sim was once, but his claim was false.

That message happened to me when Sara lost a friendship with a celeb, which was a false accusation. I could sue or whatever the claim at the city hall which removed the negative moodlet. Makes me wonder if angering celebs makes them spread rumours or such.

My vampire Sim is the scandal queen :o So far they have gotten her for :

1) Public Whoohoo - true
2) Child Out of Wedlock - true
3) Biting - true
4) Fighting - false

Sued for slander and lost - guess the jury wasn't convinced since the other three were true!

How can you deflect the scandal? My vampire Sim celebrity has been scandalised for biting (all true, but still the moodlet is annoying) and I've managed to do the other options to lessen the moodlet/make it go away apart from deflecting the scandal. It's probably something very simple to do, but for the life of me I can't figure it out!

Go to the courthouse to sue. If you win in the case you could even go with profit! ;D
EDIT: Or do you mean talking to people to try to disperse the rumours?

To deflect the scandal, you go to Steve's Business Complex and you can choose to deflect it there.  I have tried this option a few times, and it never seems to work for my sims, or it does and I still have the negative moodlet.

I have found the best option is to pay off the papparazzi, costs more then trying to sue, but it seems to be the only failsafe option to get rid of the moodlet right away.

Same place, Steve's business complex.  Or the regular office building if it isn't Bridgeport
