Does The Sims 4 have any hidden skills?
« on: December 01, 2014, 07:19:27 AM »
I was wondering if anyone has heard if Sims 4 have any hidden skills like Sims 3 does.

I believe that there's a hidden homework skill. After doing homework for a certain amount of time, my child sims would get the option instead to "breeze through homework", which gave them a confident moodlet and made them do it a lot faster. I don't think it's related to anything other than doing homework (grades, extra credit, traits), but it was in my legacy family, so I wasn't really testing it.

I think they get that once they are an A student, but it only seems to be in grade school, my high school sims were A students and never had that, yet they had it in grade school.
I haven't noticed any hidden skills, but certain emotions make them do things differently. I noticed when one of my sims was flirty, she danced more suggestively.

There is a hidden skill for each of the video games, and unlike normal skills it decays when not in use.

That's probably the case; I had 3 children, and the 2 that got A's in grade school got the ability; the one who had a B didn't. They all had A's in high school and none of them got it; probably just an oversight that will be patched eventually.

Other than that, I haven't noticed any other hidden skills. (I haven't really played around with video gaming.)

I am pretty sure there is a hidden dance skill though it probably has only two levels - super dorky and dorky.

The homework skill also extends to 'dominate homework'.  Some of my children have had that one and yes, just in grade school.  They skip through their homework in seconds.

I thought the 'Breeze Through Homework' was related to level of logic/mental skill... ?!?

Thanks for the replies. I figured the game had been out long enough that is there was any hidden skills someone would have dug it up by now. I knew I hadn't seen anything on it but was curious if anyone else had.

I don't think so. Of the two kids who got the "Breeze Through Homework" option, one was a whiz kid and had a very high mental skill. The other, however, was a Social Butterfly and had low/mid-range mental skill. They both had A's in school, though.

Let's hope some very cool hidden skills happen with future expansion packs etc.  :)

Just a note on the Breeze Through Homework... my dynasty child's only a B student at the moment and she can breeze Through her homework. She also has level 9 mental skill... I'm assuming reading back through these posts that the option to Breeze Through Homework isn't related to having and A at school nor a high level of mental skill.

I don't think so. Of the two kids who got the "Breeze Through Homework" option, one was a whiz kid and had a very high mental skill. The other, however, was a Social Butterfly and had low/mid-range mental skill. They both had A's in school, though.

So, perhaps it's to do with being mentored? My current dynasty child has been mentored every time she has done homework. Either that or there is a hidden homework skill!

I think that's the case. I believe I saw it mentioned as that somewhere, and it makes sense. I don't think my B student was mentored much at all, while both my A students got mentored a few times.

Reaping skill is certainly hidden, I have no idea how my sims ended up with it but after the reaper appeared one day, the next time I checked the skills one of my sims had level 1 on the reaping skill.
