Potion Of Youth
« on: November 23, 2014, 06:21:23 AM »
Hi!

I was thinking about using a potion of youth on a child - but was wondering if it actually worked? Does it take them back to the beginning of childhood - or just give them a buff?

Thanks in advance guys.  ;D

I just used a Potion of Youth on an elder and it just set his age back to the beginning of his current stage.

Also, I'm going to move this to Miscellaneous Help.

Yes, a potion of youth just resets your current life stage. I have used them on children before to get more time to complete all of the childhood aspirations.

Could you not just use the mailbox or reset the time from normal to a longer lifespan?

Or stop the clock altogether.  I do both - longest life span and no aging when it suits me.  I like my kids to max out their skills.

Thanks everyone so much! It's great to know. I wanted to use the 'free pass' potion on youth on a child in my legacy, now I have some options to do that!  ;D

Hey KTK10, if you don't want to spend the points on the potions, writers with the aspiration finished can write books of life that accomplish the same thing.

Huh, doesn't the Book of Life require the sim that will be rejuvenated to be killed off first, which is particularly difficult with children, since they can only be killed by fire?

(And also it needs to be bound to the sim before it dies; killing it off and then trying to write, or bind, the book does not work.)

I do use that tactic with adult sims and the cowplant, mind you. I just don't think it very feasible for children.

You're right, I made the mistake of thinking Books of Life worked like ambrosia.  If you use them before death they only refill needs, so it might be possible to use it like a sleep replacement potion.
