So to complete the bodybuilder aspiration, you have to mentor 15 sims. I am stuck at 12. No matter how many sims I mentor, the number never goes higher. Am I missing something? It's really frustrating.

I had issues with this too then I made sure to only mentor strangers and it seemed to increment again. I'm not sure if it was just that situation or what but maybe that will help? If it's the case that each time you mentor it needs to be with a new person I wish they would put that in the description.

It does need to be a different person. So you have to mentor 15 different sims. Try meeting new people at the park, then do "travel with" to the gym. Generally they will follow you into the gym. If they don't, your sim can walk into the gym and then do the 'call over' and get them into the gym.
If they still don't work out, if your sim is very energized etc they get an interaction called "encourage so-and-so to work out". Sometimes it takes a bit of work to get the last few sims.
You might get lucky though and have some new sims arrive at the gym!

Thanks, I was afraid it was different sims. :c My sim is friends with pretty much EVERY athletic sim thanks to this step, lol.

I had trouble with this, too, until I realised it had to be different sims. I thought maybe I could mentor the same sim on different days, but that didn't work. So I mentored all the townies that would show up at the gym, then for the last four or five, I just called people I knew on the phone to come and hang out at the gym. My problem was I found some sims didn't have the mentor option come up, and I know they weren't already level 10 fitness.

Hey, you only have to mentor the person for 3-5 sim minutes. basically, tell your sim to mentor them, wait for it to register (usually around 10 seconds real life) and then cancel the order and move on. you dont need to "complete" the mentor. easiest way is to travel between the 2 gyms till some sims you havent mentored show up.

Ha Ha, Don is not always there in my game, but if he's not there, Alice Spencer-Kim is.

For me its always Bob's wife... I don't even remember her name. I've never had any of my sims even meet that family! lol Far as I'm aware she's not even an active sim.

Oh yeah, Mrs Pancakes is quite often there. What IS her first name? Is it Eliza? None of my households ever meet them, except one time I switched households for a while and when I went back to my main household, Bob was always knocking on the door as my sim had befriended him.
I have started household hopping a fair bit now, and a few of my sims have a higher fitness level. They always seem to be at the gym, too. Even my lazy glutton slob sim, who I forced onto a health kick, is ALWAYS there.
