My Sim won't go to work

My young adult sim has a job, but when the time comes for him to go to work, he doesn't go.  He just chooses a new task.  When I click on the "go to work" button on the careers tab, nothing happens.  Anyone know how I can force him to go to work?

hi Haneknits, welcome to the forum! I haven't had this problem but have you tried saving and quitting? Or even traveling somewhere with the sim in question as sometimes that resets everything.
Failing that maybe emptying your cache files.

I have had this happen and I find that changing their outfit will often work.

I finally just had my Sim quit his job and got him a new job.  He goes to work every day in the new career, so problem solved.  I guess he just didn't like the old job.

I jus figured out a solution and wanted to post with everyone. When this happened to me my Sim wouldn't go to work or sleep! I kept clicking to do the action and it would just disappear right away. I figured out my sim wouldn't go anywhere at all just stay home.
I tried unlocking my front door and it fixed both. I can sleep now and I can go anywhere again.
Maybe unlocking your door could help aswell.
