I seemed to have developed a new BIG problem with LN. When I first installed it I had no problem with playing Bridgeport. I decided that I wanted to explore the new skills etc before really getting into the town so I've been playing the other more familiar towns until I knew a bit more. Now when I try to open a new game in Bridgeport it will let me get as far as choosing a household and then the game crashes.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Look back to the first few posts. I think that was originally what this thread was about. The solution may have something to do with deleting some corrupt lots in Bridgeport.

I'll go in and check it out and then my next question would be, it allowed me to play when I first installed it. What changed? Do the lots start out corrupt or does it develop?

I just checked. No grayed out lots for me in Bridgeport.

The choppy gameplay (in any neighborhood) has made my game nearly unplayable. I've just about given up on it until there is a patch. The clock itself is choppy on any speed. It will pass a few minutes and then pause, pass minutes, then pause. Very annoying!

Mine was fine until I put all the new buildings in Riverview for a new attempt at the Dynasty challenge, and then it got a bit choppy (but not as bad as yours sounds). I only put 4 of the new buildings in SV as I got sick of looking for space and it still ran fine.

Maybe try turning down the graphics quality in the game and see if that helps.

Mine aren't either. My game is choppy but I don't get kicked out of it. No grayed out lots though.

For those who are having issues with LN crashing after Bridgeport loads, I would suggest changing your settings for Data Execution Prevention (DEP).  Since Ambitions I have to list the newest version of Sims 3 as an exception to DEP.

If you are having issues of Bridgeport crashing when you start to play this might help. I found this on the Sims forum and it cured my Bridgeport crashes.

Open Bridgeport and go into edit town.
Bulldoze the fire department at 357 4th ave and change the lot to residential. Don't remove the lot, just the building and change it to residential.
Use the fire department from your community lots library (from Ambitions) and place it at  34 1st Ave (after you have changed the lot to community fire dept).

Save you game and play as usual.

Just saw this, and posted in between. Sorry!

I might give that a try. I wasn't rendering well last night after a period of time either, and that was really ticking me off, considering that I just bought a new graphics card that is recommended by EA. The old one wasn't. It isn't perfect, and will still need a future upgrade, but it should run the game fine, given that the old one (not recommended) DID, but with poorer graphics.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but my vampire sim was working on his charisma skill and got to level 8 when he completed the super friendly challenge (not sure bout the name, but the one that stops friendships decaying). However, the friendships are decaying, he has already lost a bunch of friends even tough they should be staying friends, it kinda annoyed me  :-\

I do know in my game, story progression is not like it use to be.  I have two families in BP and I switch between the two.  When I go to my couple, they are usually in the driveway, he is missing work and almost all of the way red.  After getting them all fixed up and play with them a couple of sim days, I go back to the other household.  One little sim is a vampire and when it loads, she is almost to the point of being dead.  If I had not put it on pause and put the testingenabled cheat in and moved her hunger bar up, she would have died.  I find they stand around alot more than they use too also.  If their bars are up most of the way, instead of finding something to do on their own, like they use to, they just stand there and the free will is turned up all of the way.  I don't mind telling them what to do, but that was always the neat thing about the game, just to sit back and watch them do things on their own. :)

Has your sim been accused of woohooing in public or something like that ? This will cause a relationship drop with all his friends.

Also, I think you can lose relationship if you refuse an invitation to a party

Yes it is.  I never change it and I always leave story progression on also. :)

I have the opposite.  I have free will on high.  I have one game where I play with cheats on and keep the sim's needs static.  He used to just stand around if I didn't give him anything to do - wouldn't answer his phone or do anything else without my direction.  Now, he does things on his own - not as much as if needs were dynamic, but still much more than before LN.

Has anyone gotten their actor to go to work on level 7 yet? My actor just reached level 7, and now all work actions just drop out of her queue :( .
