My sims haven't tried to salvage anything recently, but I just had an experience of calling the repairman to fix a shower.  He stood around in front of the house for a long time, finally said he was done, billed my sims the $50, and left without fixing the shower.  I called again, same thing happened.  I finally got one of my sims to fix the shower.  This was in my Dynasty game in Sunset Valley.  Anyone else having problems with the repairman not fixing regular household stuff?  The household has a broken computer too, and I'm not sure I trust any of the family to try repairing it.  But I don't want to keep throwing money down the drain on the repairman if he won't do anything.

I've just basically given up on the repairmen entirely and just train at least one Sim in handy and do my own repairs.  Just make sure there are no puddles near by.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

I've just had one of my Late Night families disappear, with an error message flash up saying the save file is corrupt. The game (but not the computer) shut down cleanly last time I closed it, so I'm not sure why that happened.

You can try to recover your saved backup of the file.  Instructions are here.

Thanks Pam.

I've also noticed that in Build mode shift + clicking the paint/wallpaper doesn't cover an entire room. It always misses one wall out.

Not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but I've had issues with the Martial Arts tournament since I installed Late Night. One of the opponents turned out to be paparazzi, and no matter what I have tried, I don't get the option to challenge him to a ranked sparring match. Anyone else that has run into this and found a way around it?

I'd suggest trying again the next day, or else waiting for your next trip. Hopefully you'll get different competitors.

Something similar happened to my chess player. In Bridgeport he had to go impress, then befriend the celebs before they would show up on the lot.  Otherwise he would get the "Something else has come up ..." message.

I loaded a family of three with their house & pool into Bridgeport. I added a new expensive car (they now have 2 cars), a hot tub, a grand piano, drum set, and a butler. After that the game speed became slower. I still have plenty of memory and the specs of my desktop is correct.  What do you think I should do? Is this a bug? Should I just move the family in without their big house, I'm willing to do that... Thanks! :(

Hmmm ....

Just started a new sim in Bridgeport and decided to use the library to save simoleans only ...

There wasn't a book corral there like there normally is.

Is there a way to edit one into the game?  Just curious.

Well, yea... That's what some cheats like "testingcheatsenabled true > shift+click on the library lot > Buy on this Lot" are for.

Go into 'Edit Town' and then choose the library.  Click on the buy/build.  Once you are in the library, go into 'buy' mode and drop in as many book corrals as you desire.  I have one on each floor in the corner rooms.

Note:  You will need to do this to each new game you start.  You can also just upload a copy of your 'fixed' library so when you start a new game you can bulldoze the old one and replace it with the new one.

I like this expansion, but the buggy gameplay really discourages me from playing.

My sim just reached level 9 in Film Career Acting Branch and he can't go to work anymore. The carpool waits for him but when I click for the limo the queue disappears. The same happens when I click the career lot.

Argh... EA should really, really release that patch soon.

I'm training my Sim in martial arts right now.  Hopefully this is not a common problem, but I'll let you know.  And I don't know of any way around it, except maybe going to china?

With all the issues so many people seem to have it could be awhile just because of all the fixes that need to be tested.  The rate they are going it may as well just be a complete re-release with how bad it is for some people.

I was there on vacation when I was working on the tournament. I had my sim return home and when he is able to go back, I'll have him try again and see if he can do it this time.

The choppy gameplay (in any neighborhood) has made my game nearly unplayable. I've just about given up on it until there is a patch. The clock itself is choppy on any speed. It will pass a few minutes and then pause, pass minutes, then pause. Very annoying!
