Problems with Late Night

I don't think this is a new feature - I've had it happen long before LN.  I remember in one of my games, the message came up that Gunther Goth had starved to death.  I thought it was strange that someone so rich would starve.  Then a few days later there was a message that Cornelia and Mortimer had moved out of town.  I remember thinking that maybe she had killed him off and was skipping town.
