Successful Linage Aspiration Problem
« on: November 03, 2014, 02:55:22 AM »
I'm not sure if this has been posted somewhere before or not (checked all sections and not found any posts with the same problem) but on the last stage of the Successful Linage Aspiration the 'Have a child or grandchild reach the top of their career' thing doesn't seem to be working for the teen careers.

Okay, I have had my twin girls reach the top of 2 Teen Careers to the point they get the golden tick for maxing it out but according to the parents aspirations it's not saying they have completed it. so do I have to wait until they are Adults or is it even possible with the teen careers or is there some trick to it all??

I had this problem too, but eventually it registered as complete long before any of the children reached the top of an adult career.  At the point it completed, two children had topped a  teen career, and one of them had aged up and started an adult career (at level 3 due to having an A), and a third sibling was at level two of a teen career.  I'm not sure why it then triggered - it may have been due to starting an adult career, or the total number of career levels between all the kids passed ten (3 + 3 + 2 for teen careers and +3 for adult career).  Or it could have been just a delay in registering, or some other glitch.  I've noticed some of the aspirations that involve tallying something don't always register correctly until I've either traveled or exited the game.

Sadly even after taking my twin teens to adulthood and starting their adult careers it still didn't register, trying again with them since I saved a copy of them in another house as a trial for some stuff.

Have you tried clearing caches?

You might also want to continue with the teens for a bit - it might trigger after they get promoted a couple of times.  You could also try switching aspiration, save and exit, reload, and then switching the aspiration back.  That's working for some people to fix a glitch with the Party Animal aspiration's count of social events.

Tried all that, still no luck.. determined to get to the bottom of this problem, one way or another.

I had this problem when the adult who 'chose' this aspiration already had a teen in a job. That teens work achievements never registered with the aspiration. Other teens did. I assumed that 'the teen was already working' was the problem.
The other teens who started their jobs after the adult had 'chosen' the aspiration had all their achievements counted/registered against the aspiration requirements.

Sorry, this seems quite confusing but I can't think how else to explain it. Anyway, maybe this too is your problem?  :)

Playalot, my adults had the aspiration a good two sim days before the teens started their careers, I did test it with the adults getting the aspiration after the teens got their jobs but it hasn't 'clicked' yet. at the moment, my original teen sims are on their last teen career and it's not clicked, with the clones in other households, they are adults on their second career and again not clicking..

Thanks all for the suggestions so far, if I ever find a solution to the problem I'll let you know.. not ready to give up on it yet.
