Storing Items (Without Cabinets)
« on: November 02, 2014, 03:38:28 PM »
Anyone else missing cabinets?

I sure am, especially because I am worried that accumulating items is contributing to my game crashing a lot. So, here are some alternative storing options in the absence of cabinets:

Each type of item or object is addressed separately below, and I welcome additional info and suggestions!  :)

(I posted this as a response in another discussion, and Pam suggested I make it its own thread so here it is.) Original Discussion: http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,20969.75.html

One change from Sims 3 to Sims 4 that is really frustrating me at the moment is the inability to rearrange and store your items in any meaningful or useful way.

This is driving me nuts too :( And with no cabinet to store all our collectibles, I'm really cranky with it.

I think this information should be in a topic of its own on the General Discussion board, unless someone else has already started one.

Yes, I've had small toys placed on a kids bookcase, not sure about anything else though.

This thread is kinda old, but I found that the "Buyer Beware" chest can store relics and other valuable items from Jungle Adventure.

I have still yet to find storage places for adventure items.

@ritabels  welcome to the forum. Yes this thread is old and it was made at a time when there were no storage chests of any sort in the game.  :)

The adventure items can be stored on flat surfaces if you need to get them out of your sims inventory. I actually store mine across the ceilings-so drop the walls and then go up to the roof height and then place items alone the 'floor' of the ceiling. Basement floors are also good for storing items that won't go into chests and either lock the door or just simply don't place one.

Go to add, it's super annoying that the devs keep making these items that take up a lot of inventory space and yet we have no clear storage solution for such items.

I meant to say, "I know this thread is pretty old but..."

But anyway! <3 Thank you for giving me tips! I've been pulling my hair out trying to sort my inventory, and even bought a Retail Store for the items I no longer need. I love the Sims, but little quirks like these get on me really.
