I wonder if outdoors in the shade is okay for vampires. In that case, a sheltered garden, like a carport might work. Otherwise, it's possible to light a garden for nighttime planting and tending.

I guess you could have a garden underground.  That sounds pretty neat.

From my very limited experience, a shaded area does not provide adequate cover from sunlight exposure for a vampire Sim. Mine chatted with another normal Sim in the shade of a building until she started throwing sparks and smoke.

I don't know if an actual roof overhead would be different -> such as LlamaMama's carport idea.

The only way I have found to put a garden underground is moveobjects on. I have no problems with cheats though lol.

You can also make a Basement the old fashioned way and you get the terrain down there to plant/place normally.

Without cheats? Can the basement floor be painted as dirt, then planted?

edit: I see I asked about this once before and was pointed to this tutorial. By "the old fashioned way" you meant not using the basement tool.

I still like the basement garden idea, but now I'm wondering if you can make basements under apartments with or without cheats.

Getting a bit off topic talking about basements and gardens.  (Just doing my job - lol) ;)

In reference to Vampires trying their had at gardening, I built a two-story type of sunroom addition to my house with windows on all of the outside walls and my vampire Sim was OK gardening in that room during the day.  He still was sparking and smoking with just a roof over his head, but it stopped after I added the windowed walls.  I think I had some problems with plant placement and had to delete one wall so he could plant at night, then replace the wall.

Missa is correct, as long as they are in a vehicle traveling during the day they are OK,  Just keep them off the bikes, scooters and motorcycles  ;D.

LlamaMama - Other ideas are to have your Vampire Sim learn a musical instrument to play in the subways for tips, or max out on the painting or writing skills.  You can make decent money with any of these skills during the day and still enjoy the the clubs and mixology aspects of the game at night. :)

Hannah has been able to get from Home to work at the Military fine. (I know I have not updated my story in a while)  But she has not been getting the over exposure moodlet, it also helps that Super speed limits the time in the Daylight.  :)

My sim, Hannah Adkins became a vampire, and then married and turned Chistopher Steel. Only one problem: she's pregnant, and getting cravings to eat regular sim foods. Doesn't eating regular food make vampires sick?

When my first vampire was turned I'd forgotten all about plasma fruit and she just ate normal food for the first couple of days and I think she was fine.

Vampires can eat normal food without becoming sick, but it won't raise their "thirst meter."  You have to drink plasma juice for that, or if you have plasma fruit you can make plasma pancakes and that will increase thirst.

Cool! I didn't know that you could make plasma pancakes! :o By the way, can you make plasma soup, or just buy it from food truck?

I don't know about the soup.  I read that if the recipe can have different fruit (like apple, watermelon, etc pancakes), then plasma fruit will be an option, as long as you have some.  I don't think you can make a fruit soup though, so I'm guessing that it's only from the food truck.
