Newbie question, sorry! I have LN installed and am playing in Barnacle Bay.  Will vampires just show up in my town, or do I have to go to Edit Town and install the vampire haunt?

Thank you!

Vampires started showing up in my Dynasty game before I installed the vampire haunt.  Characters that my sims knew suddenly showed up in the relationship panel with the red rim around them.

Thanks so much! I'll go and take a look round town and see who's looking newly gaunt and red-eyed.  :)

If you know some Sims their picture in the relationships panel will be Red!  ;) In my game is was Bebe Hart who became the Vampire so now she is targetted as a Best Friend since hopefully she will last with a Dynasty member.  :)

I guess the way to actually find out who is vampires and stars, is to do the testingcheatenabled cheat and click on mailbox and get to be friends with everyone, that way at least see how many show up as one or the other and how often.  Sort of like an experimental family.  I know it starts off slow and then they just keep showing up. :)

Npc Sims can turn into Vampires even if there are none already in game, it is built into Story Progression. To cure a Vampire someone said they have to pay to be cured at the Science Facility.

Thanks for the info. It seems I'll have to make the npc's active to use the science facility's cure. I haven't used EA's story progression in quite a while (thanks to Twallan) and I figured I'd give it a shot this time around. Won't be doing that again  :D

My main Sim just got turned by an old friend who used to work at the consignment store! She bit him three Sim days or so ago, but I missed his transformation scene because I was ordering another Sim to go fishing.  I had his daughter take a photo of him because I didn't know whether vampire Sims showed up in photos.  It looks like they do, and they also show up in mirrors.

I found a single bed for vampires in with the other beds in the "Comfort" section.  I don't know if vamps have a double bed or not.

Edit:  I just checked in my game.  It's called "Vampiric Sanctum" and sells for $2500.

Yeah, that makes sense they would sleep alone.  Who would want to sleep with a vampire?  Makes my skin crawl, just thinking about it.  ;)

Hello all,

This'll be my first post in this forum, and by the way, thanks Carl and Pam for the guides, they've been very helpful to me over time.

I got LN and went straight for the Vampires. My legacy family of sorts is the Clearwater's, and the 4th generation is Mary Clearwater. The entire family has lived in Sunset Valley since the beginning.

I moved Mary and her Simbot daughter Sherry over to Bridgeport, and after clubbing it for a few nights Mary met several Vampires, particularly at the Plasma 501 bar, such as Elvira Slayer and William Fangmann. She also met Vladimir Schlick who bit her on the third date. She turned and married him, and they had a Vampire baby named Eve.

This is what I've observed of Eve, born Vampire:

A small black tatoo on the side of her neck in the shape of a V, I assume a Vampire mark.

Small V's instead of Z's when she sleeps, this appears to have started at the Toddler stage.

Glowing/reflective yellowish eyes. Started at Toddler, baby didn't appear to have them.

She is currently a Child, and is having wishes to "Read a Sim's Mind" (Can't actually do it yet) and to "Consume Plasma Juice". She doesn't seem affected by the Sun yet and she has a Hunger need, though she can eat normal food OR drink Plasma Juice to satisfy the need.

An interesting thing about the genetics of Vampires (If it is genetics) is that Vladimir has yellow Vampire eyes, Mary has yellow eyes, which could have been transfered by the bite and transformation, and Eve has yellow eyes, possibly from both parent's Vampire genetics. I find this curious because I've seen other Vampires around town that had red eyes, not yellow, so I'm wondering if the color is transferable. As I recall Grant mentioned something in a video about there being different Vampire "Clans". I wonder if this is one sign of the differing types of Vampires.

All I can think of at the moment.

Welcome to the forum, Chester. Last night I read the descriptions of the various households in Bridgeport, and there was some mention that an old-school vampire might have to deal with some new vampires, recently come to town.

Well, that stinks. What if you have a married vampire couple?

They'll just have to make do like couples did in '60's sitcoms: sleep in two twin beds. :D
