Right, Sims with the Eye Candy reward no longer sparkle.

Wow, really? I noticed a discussion about that on another thead about it prior to the patch, but it still sparkled on my Sims when I bought it for them. I'll go check it out right away! Sorry it's off-topic. Seems to me like EA has it in for certain fans.  ;D

EDIT: Just checked. For me, they definitely still sparkle, which is odd.

And you're patched up through the most current one?

I don't have the game yet, but yes, I'm fully patched. I keep all my graphics settings on high, maybe that's it?

So I started up the game and made my sim like usual and started my architect career like always. I want to play a vamp too with out actually becoming one in case I did not like it (even though I hear you can go to science center and get turned back).

(By the way architect is a great job to become a celebrity. I had star quality and you only meet celebrities doing houses so I leveled up to a 5 within 2 hours of playing)

I decided to ask a vamp to move in so I could play them. The first one I meet and become close with is Elvira Slayer. Shes a girl and so I am but I romanced her hoping to get her to move in but that was not popping up so I married her. Which leaves out the vamp baby option but that's ok.

Anyways, when I select my household when loading the game there is a story now about how Elvira is the most evil and feared vamp and now a new group of young vampires have come to town. Something about a bloodbath for the power.

Whats that all about?

@Pam: I just bought Eye Candy for my parent sims, and they sparkle. I'm all freshly installed and patched. Maybe it's graphics settings. Mine are all maxed.

Robbi you don't need to listen to the Family descriptions as most are made up and put ideas in your head to develop game play, so no young vampires will come around and fight Elvira.  :)

I'm not so sure about that, samo. I tried playing the hippie vampire family, and the mom's first wish was to visit a specific vampire and start a fight with her.

Did the Hippie Mom already dislike the vampire?

I guess. It was her first wish right at the beginning of a new town. The hippie mom had yellow-brown eyes, and the other one had red eyes.

When I did my testing run after installing Late Night I played a vampire but I don't remember their names now I did mention it before but I don't remember in which thread anyways the first wish I got was to start a fight with Elvira and yes they already didn't like each other so I am guessing that in the start Elvira and some of the other vampires are not getting along so I would say it is possible they would start a fight with her. But I don't know. I am sure that by playing Elvira you could change that if you wanted by being friendly with the other vampires.
And Pam I had the same experience you had with a vampire. I moved Vladmir Schlick (don't know if that is spelled right) in with my Sim and he went to bed and woke up to get a plasma juice and died while holding the plasma juice. What in the world is that all about? And he had the sun blister moodlet thing too. They definitely don't take good care of them while you aren't playing them. Everything was low in his needs. Anyways I was able to Try for a baby with him before he married in so I have a vampire baby to play with. I guess that is ok then. And I too didn't have an ask to move in option just they marry one which I thought was odd. And when he died they became fiances again and no longer married. In the couple of nights he was a ghost there he never came out until my Sim went into labor then he came out to see the baby but went back and didn't come out again. I moved and thought that his vase thing would come with but it didn't so he is gone now. Grim did come for his too. I remember someone before said Grim didn't come for the vampire but he did for mine.

Grim does come for all the vampires. The Elvira thing has something to do with her status. I read some of the bios and they give you some insight, not alot but some.

It's not fair. Everyone has all these vampire experiences, good and bad, and I haven't seen one yet. Should I be hanging out in a certain place? I assume they only come out at night right?

From what I have seen through looking at the threads some of them do come out during the day but they are usually smoking so they get a negative moodlet and probably go inside somewhere?

I've seen vampires out at all hours.  There's a vampire cript in the basement of Plasma 501, so that's probably a decent place to find them.  I saw my very first one at the diner in the middle of the day.  He was smoking a little, but it's not very noticeable unless you're looking very closely.  I've only seen it on one vampire, too.

I finally saw the vampires. Hubby was invited to a party by one and there were a couple of them there. Beau Merrick I think was his name? I have to look again. But I think I want to turn. Is it permanent? Can you turn back?
