Well I kind of got really annoyed at the fact that I couldn't just bite anyone. I hate that it has to be friends. I mean if I had to drink someones blood I sure wouldn't put my friends through that!

I don't know if this has been mentioned before so I apologize if it is old info, but has anyone noticed when you are picking your saved games to load that if your sim is a vamp then they will be holding their neck, but if not, then they just do the regular pose. Noticed it when I had two save files for the same sim and couldn't figure out which one to load. One was saved right after my sim was turned, the other before he was bitten. The un-bitten sim is standing in the typical pose but his vampire counterpart is holding his neck like his rubbing out a cramp or something. Just thought that would be helpful if you have multiple save files for a single family (bitten and un-bitten) and you want to know at a glance which is which.

I never noticed that. I guess because I usually pick files randomly and play that one until I get bored with it then I go back to main menu and pick another. Hmm that's an interesting observation. I have got to see if this is true.

I haven't really played much with vampires, so I thought I should so I can be more knowledgeable about them.  Forest Dreamweaver finished the current writing challenge and then married an NPC named Seraphina Prattle.  She was turned into a vampire.  After her transformation was complete, they had a daughter named Buttermilk, also a vampire.  I was wary of having a child because a couple of the toddlers on this thread are a bit disturbing.  But I guess Dreamweaver blood wins out because she's a cutie, even if she is a vampire.

Are you ever going to run out of Colour Names to call your Dreamweavers?  :D

Buttermilk is cute! I love her so much! Mostly because of her last name lol. I miss the Dreamweavers, and I love reading about them elsewhere!  ;D

I think vampires are awesome and I love playing them and in the process of turning all of Sunset Valley into Sunset Vampire Valley, lol.  I might be able to do it, I am not sure. :)

I wished I had a chance to play with Vampires a little. But right now in my Dynasty EVERYONE who was an original is now a vampire or dead. I hope I can find some humans to marry my sims off too! geeze it's like the plague!

Tell me about it.  I think I am going to have a problem in my dynasty as well.  The seventh generation is going to be hardpressed to find a mate.  I know I can go with an elder, since they can't move in, but alright already with the vampires, lol. :)

Well good luck to both of us then! I know when I had to make all of Charlotte's best friends they were all vampires! Which actually makes for a better friend because they live longer :P

Not always.

I'm playing a vampire in Sunset Valley right now who was turned by Nick Alto.  The day after she vamps out, Nick invites her to a party, so she goes to hang out with her "father in darkness."  While I'm at the party, poor old Nick is in a seriously foul mood for some reason.  While she's talking with him, he dies of thirst right in front of her.  No warning at all, no "desperate hunger" bubbles above his head, nothing.  He just dies in a most grisly fashion.  Holly was still a teenager at the time, so you know Nick was still in his prime.

The problem with NPC vampires is that they try to live their lives like normal sims.  "Oh, what a beautiful day!  I think I'll go on a picnic at the park.  Do you smell something burning?"  No survival instinct to speak of.  :P

Speaking of that particular sim, she no longer has the bite marks on her neck (despite the fact that Nick bit her on the wrist, the marks were on her neck).  Do they disappear after a while, or did a glitch cause them to go away?  She's still all vampy and everything, but the marks are gone.

My vampire sim delivered twins and I did a "dry run" to see how vampirism works with children.  It seems that children age normally (3 days infant, 7 days child, 14 days teen on normal life span), have normal hunger needs and do not display any vampire traits (running fast, fast learning, burning in the sun) until aging up to young adult.  However, they do show up in the relationship bar with the red line around their picture like normal vampires.

Off to play again, this time letting the children age up normally.  I'll post some pics later.

You are correct, except for the part about fast learning. In fact, children and teen vampires actually learn even faster then adult vampires.
