I've got a game where I'm playing Vladimir Schlick, who is a full vampire from the start.  He drinks plasma juice and eats plasma fruit and it works perfectly fine for him.  He's never drank from a Sim.

I am playing a Vampire father (he was turned as a young adult) and he can eat birthday cake without getting sick.  So can a few of his vampire friends that come to the parties.  If he eats other foods he does get sick then that makes his family/friends sick too.  Yuck!

I noticed he can drink mixed juices he makes with apples and tomatoes (or other combinations) and he doesn't get sick.  Tonight he is going to try to eat stuff served from the bar to see how he does.  8)

As to a vegetarian vampire, the guide says they will receive the Sated moodlet only from eating plasma fruit whereas eating plasma fruit only satisfies thirst in non-vegetarian vampires.  Vegetarian vampires will also get the Nauseous moodlet from drinking the blood of normal Sims.

This is just a sim family I have in BP I have been playing,  it is a whole family of vampires.
Is this the Hemlock family?

I started playing the mother and daughter in Bridgeport, I can't think of their names right off.  I started with one vampire and kept going, I turned the butler too, lol and now there is two children vampires.  I really like that family, very easy to work with.

Does anyone know what vampires can die of? One of my sims had Beau Merrick as a boyfriend and went to visit him for some off-lot woohoo.  They were getting along fine when suddenly Grim showed up and took Beau away.  He hadn't been complaining about thirst or anything.  I was wondering whether he'd died of old age, but he still looked the same as he had all the way through the game - no grey hair or wrinkles.

Now I need to send my Photographer sim off to the graveyard to take a picture of a vampire ghost.  :D

Thanks a lot! He was inside, so it must have been thirst.  Poor guy was one room away from a refrigerator full of plasma juice too...

My very first time in BP, I was checking out the clubs, when I noticed a ruckas and got to a sim just in time to see him grab his throat and then go into a pile of dust and then grim came.  Since I had just got the game, I did not know what the heck was going on and the ghost was red, then I started reading about it and found out it was thirst.  I have also seen vampires with the thirst bubble over their head and pull out plasma fruit and eat it and this was a sim I was not even playing.  So they do this on their own, I suppose, if they have it in their inventory.

My vampire sim left work and passed out.  She is so in the red, she has that nasty overexposure moodlet, which lasts two days.  Poor thing.

I haven't started a vampire yet, because I can't figure out how to keep a day job and not die of sun exposure. I don't want night work because I want to play the clubs/mixology aspects. Do vampires need less sleep, I hope? What tips do you guys have for day job + vampire night life?

Self employment is your best bet: go to bed at 6~7 am, wake up at noon~2pm, work for a bit, then go clubbing.
Otherwise, pick something with short work hours (helps if you don't turn until you've gained a few promotions), also, sleeping twice a day so your batteries are full for the long night is not a bad idea.
The special vampire bed recovers you slightly faster than the best bed in game, so there's that. Meditative trance sleep is also an option, or moodlet manager.

If you think that Vampires max skills so much quicker then being self employed is a good option!  :)

My vampire sims were in the film career and they never had a problem with the sun. Just going to and from the car is fine, you just can't stand outside for long.

When I get this, I want to turn my entire family but now I'm worried about how they would do gardening? I know at 5 am they would be ok but what if I have a huge garden and they don't get done before the sun rises?

There's not much space for huge gardens in Bridgeport anyway.
