The changes to CAS are only accessible by the player. The game will not create any NPC's using this new functionality.

So it's possible to keep male only households living on if you have a pollinator? Assuming the team allows this feature =D

Can good friends also be ghosts? Or does it have to be a living person?

They have to be living; hence the strategy to delay this element until towards the point of ambrosia.  Otherwise you risk your friends dying, or sometimes being culled by the game (usually not until gen 6 onwards if the town gets over populated).

Good luck :D
Fair enough :-) thank you!

What I got from the new patch (besides unisex hairs and clothes, which are just that: "new" hairs and clothes):

- You can create a male sim who can get pregnant, or a female sim who can impregnate others. Or a sim who cannot reproduce at all.

- Any of the gender customization options beyond clothes and hair are accessible only from CAS or entering CAS through cheats.

- No sims will spawn with these new options. You'll only get born in-game and generated sims who are typical females and males.

- The reproductive options are the only ones that would have a real, tangible effect on the game. Stuff like feminine vs. masculine body shape, default clothing preference (that you can override just by setting your filters differently), and whether they stand up to pee or not is cosmetic at most.

Personal Opinion, Not an Official Ruling Yet: I don't care what options you give your founder, because I don't see a huge advantage that would arise from having a male founder who could get pregnant/a female founder who could impregnate. But you're stuck with the rest of your sims having the usual options, because as of right now, there is no dynasty-legal way to change them.

Oh, and creating a sim who can't reproduce at all is fine, but it does fail your dynasty before you even start. :P

Actually, most of the changes do not require the cheat at all.  Making your sim more feminine or sterile can be done as early as teen simply from the dresser.  You can also give them any type of minor body modification like bigger breasts, eyes or backside without the cheat, including tattoos as well.  You cannot however do the finer detail mode.

Really? They were locked when I tried it. :(

EDIT: Never mind. It works!

So...I guess it will be something to discuss. I think my main point still stands, though: under usual circumstances, I don't think sex changes and the new options give enough of a benefit to ban them. But now that I think about it, it might be used to get around a female growing to old to have children.

Eh. We'll probably have a fun discussion about it. ;)

I tried it in three different files simply by going to the mirror, closet or dresser and choosing "change sim".  Also doesn't reset age like it used to either.

Given the very fast turnaround to questions on the Sims 4 ID thread, I had a question ... Would a team member be free to pop over to the Sims 3 Immortal Dynasty questions thread and answer my question there? Not quite everyone can play Sims 4, afterall! :)

Many thanks,

Dek

The gender changes require no cheats. They are available through ordinary game play CAS.

I don't think is possible @Nettlejuice as the other males would need to have the 'can get pregnant' option chosen and so far I have not discovered a way to do this in-game with uncontrolled sims.
