Welcome to the Forum, TraceyJane!

The only sim you can create is your Founder, and this can't be a sim you've used in a previous game. You'll have to find the spouse among the sims in your world.

Thank you Marian. I realise I can't go and manage worlds now! I found a nice rich young man at the museum!

I've been cleaning my house rather than playing my dynasty... I have to bribe myself to play it.... it's so boring in the last gens. Far out... I'm even cleaning my oven today rather than playing!!!

Makes me think @LenaLJ  that your 'speed' approach with no story wasn't such a bad idea!  ;)

I've done my story in month to month files.  I have only just finished uploading July and I'm still on my founder who just met all her reqs.  I think Lena J has the way to go!  I love doing the story writing but that takes up so much time I wind up stopping playing the game.  I'm pretty ocd so I don't mind the repetitiveness and I'm a control freak so micromanaging is right up my alley.  lol  Sooo, I've actually been thinking of doing another one ala Lena J style only how does one show what was accomplished?  I don't do the spread sheets because my vision is so poor I can't read them.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

So true. When I did the Man Dynasty (seems like a different lifetime now lol) I eventually ended up playing the file for the story - I would think of a comedy bit/sketch I wanted to showcase and just played the file for screenshots, etc. The writing took hours.

@Joria what about taking screen shots of the friends tab and of the notifications that come up when you max a career etc etc? I don't use spread sheets either...can't stand not having the info on one screen and having to scroll. I still use paper and pen! Talk about the dark ages! But least I can see everything at one glance.

I really think we're twins.  I also use paper and pen!  I have all these little pads filled with Sims stuff!  Not sure how to take a screen shot of the notifications and what is the friends tab?  Is it that thing you click on to show who a Sim knows?

Hi Joria, yes the friends tab is exactly that...you can extend it to show more if you need to. When notifications pop up they stay on your screen for a few mins so you can just take a screenshot without using tab and it will capture the whole screen...sims UI and everything. Even if the notification goes you can just click on the panel to bring them back up anyway (top right of your screen). Sorry I haven't got any screen shots to show you what I mean as I am not in-game at the moment!

I didn't see any restrictions on this in the rules, but just to be sure, can we change aspirations before they're completed?

I rarely use the tab key for my screenshots so the only thing that shows up on my screenies are the Sims and possibly a plumbob.  The notifications and friends thing doesn't come through.  I don't know why.  Maybe one of my settings?

Joria, I haven't tried taking pictures of the notifications, but I imagine that they would show up if you click on the UI Capture box in the Camera section of Options. If you click on the icon for notifications, I think they'll show up and stay there.

I'm thinking of starting this Dynasty Challenge.  My only question so far is about gender for the 7th generation.  Has it been determined if there's a way to guarantee the baby will be female?  I'm out of touch with a lot of things and don't know if it's been discovered.

Pam, eating strawberries and listening to pop music is supposed to increase the chance that your sim will have a girl. I've eaten strawberries (7 to 10 or more), and it's worked for me. Carrots and alternative music is supposed to result in boys.

Take a look at the Tips section, too. There's some very helpful information in there, especially relating to parties.
