The moving pictures on walls came with the patch as well. I've also had it work on speakers.

Just checked: it's---amazing! I figured out you have to place them, then move them up and down! This is changing so much to my game (seeing as I don't have LN)

It works on some of the wall lights too.  I like using it in the bathrooms to have a light over the different mirrors.   :)

Speaking of parties, how boring they are.  I finally went to a party at Billy Caspian's in Riverview and everyone was at least dancing and talking, that was cool.  For the most part, someone is sleeping, fighting or fixing something to eat when you get there. :)

Ha ha ha. I know what you mean Saltypaws. I couldn't even get to dance because the guests and the hosts were either tired or hungry. When I tried to have my guy cook the host was upset because he was being inappropriate. How is that a good party. What I do is get in good with the celebrities then throw my own shindig.

It is not that useful for mixology, but it is vitally important for celebrities, which to get a better status, you have to host parties or go to others.

It might be a bit helpful, but it's not vitally important.  I had a Sim easily reach 5 star celebrity status without the Party Animal trait.  Additionally, my entire Dynasty family are celebrities of various stars with almost zero effort from me.

Is Party Animal useful as a trait for mixologists or others in Late Night?

I found the reference to this, which prompted my question. With the Party Animal trait you are never turned away from a party. That could be useful for meeting celebrities, and from what I understand, mixologists and meeting celebrities go well together.

Edited to add: I just noticed that the work schedule for the Business career is shifted later to allow for late nights and waking up later. It's a good thing. I was worried how I'd juggle the work day with the night life.

The parties seem totally random.  I did go to one, and then were two women skinny dipping in the hot tub, so I can't complain about that one. :)

I think the dress code is random, though, because sims will choose "swimwear" even if there's no pool or hot tub anywhere nearby.

I'm still not buying [partly because I'll probably get it as a Christmas present].

However ... does it fix any of the bugs and problems in Adventures/Ambitions?

Sorry to go a bit OT, but as a Sims 1/2/3 player [with ALL main expansions] I expect things to work after "investing" hundreds of £££

Not really and I almost think it added a few more bugs, but I can overlook the problems as I am having mega-fun with LN.
FYI - excavations are still not fixed and the repairman no longer fixes furniture salvaged from the junk yards.   :(

I can't believe I am just finding out about this feature. I just added some lights to my bathroom and I did it by mistake. I was like what the heck? Then I came straight here to tell you guys about it and low and behold I see I'm slow. Geez. Shows how much I redecorate my house. :D

This is a wonderful thing. Are you saying this is not a LN thing but it came with that patch?

I saw a lot of posts about Vampires showing up everywhere, but I'm not having that issue.

Celebrities, however, are allllll over the place. I swear, Barnacle Bay was founded and populated by celebrities.

Haven't played too much in Bridgeport yet, except to get Stephika and her Time Machine son moved in with Matthew Hamming. And for some bizarre reason, his huge mansion has...1 bedroom.

I had to remodel upstairs, and for someone with commitment issues, he's sure looking forward to being a daddy.

I'm thoroughly impressed with Late Night. It's better than World Adventures and a significant improvement on Ambitions. The main reason is vampires. Better than the traditional Nosferatu-type undead in the Sims 2 but no the Twilight blood-sucking fairies, either. More like Dracula (in the book, not the movies).
The celebrity system is very useful. It's been my goal for a while now to create a town of Middle-earth, complete with Valar, Maiar, and elves. The celebrity system solves the Arwen-shouldn't-be-conversing-with-Varda problem I've had. Just make Varda a level 5 celebrity and Arwen level 3.
I also love all the clubs and the return of hot tubs and butlers. My only regret is that I didn't purchase Late Night earlier than I did.

Got my copy the 5th this month and I like it so far. The celebritie function is nice. At level 5 you can get a nicer guitar, car (speed 10, James Bond style) and hot tub with better functions. Haven't tried the vampire thing, probably will not do it though (I simply don't like the unreal expect of it). To bad the laptop on which I am playing this is not fast enough to play my huge mansion with 25.000 nectar bottles in racks but that's another problem.
