Hence the name Night Life.  It does take time to get use to it, but when you do, you like it more each time you play it. :D

How do you guys approach a new expansion? Do you hop between existing households in order to get a feel for the changes? Or do you plunge right in with new sims?

Also, I got bonus content from Gamestop for pre-ordering. Does anyone know which specific buildings those are? My library has several extra high-rises, and I don't know which ones are from the bonus content.

Not sure about the bonus items, I got mine at Target.

I usually look in buy mode and build mode at all of the new goodies, then I go into the new EP and find one or two sims to play with so I can get the feel of the game without a croud.  Right now, I have a mixoligist and a vampire and an actress.  I have been playing two sims in a house and two sims in a high rise.  I actually like them both, but there is a small shack on the house side of BP that has alot of potential and awesome view of the city, so I think rebuilding is my next step.  I tend to jump in with both feet and not watch out below me and usually miss stuff, so I have taken a bit slower this time.  I only have one more day off, so trying to cram alot in a matter of three days.  Oh well, the game is not going anywhere. :)

The bonus content is just a small set of items from the Sims 3 Store.  It's not buildings.

Well then, I got those.  I suppose that is what they were talking about then. :)

It was 2 buildings, a dive bar and a dance warehouse, and 2 new hairstyles.  I am trying to find the names of the buildings but I am having no luck on google.  Here is a screenshot from a different website.

Sorry I could not be more help.

EDIT:  I opened my game up real quick and went to edit town.  They are in there with the store plumbob icon.  There isn't a 'name' for them.  One is Community Lot (dive bar) on a 40x40.  The other is Community Lot (dance club) also on a 40x40 lot.  I also had many skyscrapers but all of them had the LN plumbob icon.  Hope that helps.

There's some confusion now.  When I redeemed my code, I was taken to a page with those same pictures on it, but that's not what I got with my code.  I wasn't paying a lot of attention at the time, but it seems like the wording was a little odd and made me think that what I was getting isn't what everyone gets.  Like maybe there are different items for different codes.  What I got was Lounging and Styling.  And now that I think further on it, I'm not sure I got a clean download of it yesterday.  I got several download errors.  I just downloaded it again, though, so I'll check it out and see what I can find out.  I may be wrong about it not being buildings.  So sorry about that!

Thanks, gerrr. That looks right. The buildings look more dramatic in the teasers than they do in the library. Those would be good buildings to place in the other towns.

Both EA and Gamestop offered the content gerrr showed. In addition, everyone with the physical disc can register the game and receive The Red Carpet Collection (some stupid junk, IIRC).

One of the best features I like is the fact that you can now "Customize Lifetime Wish". That click pulls up a menu of all Lifetime Wishes and you can choose from that instead of being limited by trait choices!!

For those of you who, like me, have yet to get Night Life, then I'm happy to report that the ability to 'customise lifetime wish' comes with the patch - I'm less happy to report that the patch also makes the Launcher misbehave. :'(

I'm off to have a look at some more threads about Night Life (thanks for posting them) and to try and stop wishing that I had pre-ordered it...

And just a note about the bonus items - I pre-ordered with Amazon.com (USA) and received a code via email last night with the two hairdo's and two new clubs that gerrr00's post shows, plus I received an additional nightclub (at least the picture shows three).

I thought these bonus items were only supposed to be received with pre-orders from EA and Gamestop but I am not going to complain.  ???

The screenshot in your post was also the page I went to get my custom content.  I think we may have gotten the same content.

I have a question.  Has anyone else noticed it getting dark in  BP early in the afternoon?  I happened to look up at the sky and it was really cloudy.  Wonder if that is our hint for weather in another EP.  The only reason why I say that, is if you played sims2, it would get dark before it rained or snowed.  Just an observation.  Never know.

Oh my. Oh my. Oh my. I was gonna wait till next week to get my copy but after reading the first 2 pages, I think I have to get it this weekend. I love that they brought the vampires back. Vampires are my second obsession. And to have it mixed in with my number one addiction is too much to handle!

I was waiting for more instruments and I'm love the customizable LTW.
