Only bug I noticed so far is sometimes music from the stereos doesn't play right away.  It takes a while to start up.

Also a minor glitch:  the "go to work" button didn't work.  I had to click on the city hall and choose "Transfer Job Here" first.  Weird, because I was using a pre-made Sim who already had a job.

On the official Sims 3 forums, some people noticed a bunch of other bugs, but I haven't seen any of those yet.

Oh, and when I started a new game in Bridgeport, I was surprised it automatically added the Consignment Shop that I had made! (it was in the library).  Needless to say, it looks a bit out of place... see if you can find it in this screenshot. ;)

Still like NL. But I'm having a patch nightmare. Hopefully will get everything back to normal soon. Re-Installing...

First impression: it crashes. A *LOT* With no warning, I'm suddenly starting at my Windows desktop again. I think my computer can handle it... i7-930 w/ 6gb of ram, 1gb ATI card. All the latest drivers.

I've not been able to do much in the game because it never seems to get more than 10 or 20 minutes of time in the game before I'm booted right back out to my desktop.

That said...

I'm glad to see zodiac signs back. I hope they really help define who each sim is, what they're good at, who they like, etc. The new town doesn't seem very family friendly as it seems none of the homes have many bedrooms, parks lacking proper play spaces for kids, that sort of thing.

I am very happy to see the new objects both in buy mode and build mode. Really digging the fountain tool and the being able to place a pool almost anywhere.

Here's to hoping the crashtastic wonder of it is fixed with a patch, because I see a LOT of potential.

The 'just have fun' aspect of Sims skyrocketed for me with LN.  There's a couple new careers and some new skills but the social aspect is huge.  I think I like it because going to 'watering holes' and playing shuffleboard/darts, dancing, meeting new people, and avoiding vampires are all things I do in my own life (OK maybe not all of those things).  For once I'm playing a Sim and not focusing on grinding up the career ladder, I'm just taking my time and meeting local celebrities so form an all-star band - then I'll turn then all into vampires lol.

Oh and side note: the new decor and construction aspects are phenomenal!  Half-walls, sectional couches, curved pools, second story/rooftop pools that you can put windows on for walls and the whole studio apartment in the big city concept (again matching my life) is way fun.  I'm gonna make a monster house outta this stuff.

I totally agree!  I love all the new clothes!  I only checked out female YA, but they are super nice.  I really like the new workout tops.  Customized LTW is also outstanding.

A itty bitty bit disappointed in Bridgeport, it is late and I am super tired, but I only found 2 empty lots to build houses on.  I may have missed more, but in the "residential housing" area, I only saw 2.  In the city area I like the fact they have more than one business in the same building.  Like the business office and the restaurant are grouped together.

The pool & fountain tools are cool.  Curved pools with some landscaping, it will really look like a "natural" swimming hole.  I took me a NY minute to figure out how to place paintings up and down the wall, but I did it!  Can't wait to go and redecorate my current Sims games.

I had my new Sim try out the musical instruments, she made the cutest faces while playing the bass.  The instruments are going to be fun.  One of the new LTW is "One Man Band", max skill for all instruments.  Can't wait to actually play that wish.

Ok that's all I did for now.  I have to go to sleep before the baby wakes up.

Max skills for all instruments? So it is true that all the instruments have their own corresponding skill? Or does a so called 'Instrumental' skill split up at level 5 or something into different instruments? I was hoping for that acually.
Would be realistic.

Drums, bass, guitar and piano all have their own skills.  And tons of townies play instruments in Bridgeport!  I can't even get a corner to myself without someone pulling out a grand piano right next to me :(

TommyT that's hilarious!

I don't have Late Night but reading these comments makes me want to get it. I like the idea of a skill for each instrument. It makes sims a little more unique.

You can turn your lights into black lights!  This is just a house I am messing with all the new stuff, so that is why it looks a little crazy...

normal color lights

black light toggle on

Some of the fun things
  • Sneaking into the parties  ;D
  • hacking your way onto the guest list, but if you try to sneak into the VIP room you are asked to leave if found out  :)
  • so many places to visit! ... though this can be good and bad because of the map set up, it took me 5 minutes to find the library :P
  • Almost forgot, getting hunted!!

Some of the not so fun things
  • as a collector, I'm having a really hard time finding anything.  Searched the city for about an hour and walked away with 4-5 seeds and 3-4 rocks.  Kind of disappointed by that
  • Don't like the town set up, I love my big houses and to start you are very limited in the starting locations.  I feel like a solo household would work better with the appartments

One thing that I found interesting:  it says the value of [my Sims' apartment] is $32,000 furnished...but only $4,000 UNfurnished.  So, I guess it's fairly realistic in that moving into an apartment is much cheaper than moving into a house.

Space is definitely very limited in the town, but I think that adds to the urban feel.

Mine just crashes. Much like every clunky expansion, you can't just install it and go. I have to spend several hours setting it up. Looks like I may have to uninstall and reinstall everything...AGAIN. I'll be tearing out out my hair again.

I'm getting late start tonight with the game.  So far, so good.  As with many of you I like the new option to choose LW's.  I also think I'm going to like the city leaving.  I like to subway system.  Off to play now!

We always recommend a complete uninstall and reinstall of the games when adding an expansion or stuff pack.  Just got mine uninstalled and about to start installing.
