Bro trait description
« on: October 29, 2014, 03:51:14 PM »
The bro trait mechanics says this: "The Bro Hug and Bro Bump are great for building friendships (or even Romance, as it's not gender-related)" that indicates that that two persons with the same gender can´t have a romantic relationships which they can, both in sims 4 and in the real world. I think this discriminates homosexuals even though i do understand this probably is a mistake.

Bromance lol.

Well, not everyone has broad-mind, fella. They just keep it neutral so it wouldn't create unnecessary problem. Well, one simple description could be seen in different way depends on who see it. It just a matter of how we see the world, just like the fenomenal 'Hello Kitty' by Avril, if we see in different perspective and we tried to understand what the purpose and understand it maybe there will be no such hate and war over the internet.

Sorry, but how do you get from that line that two sims of the same gender can't have a romantic relationship? It says that it can build romance as it's not gender specific. I read that as meaning it could work between two males, two females or a male and a female. It doesn't say that it can only build romance between sims of different gender.

You are probably right and then there is nothing discriminating, now i see that there is no logic in how I thought, I thought Carl meant that because both genders can have the bro trait it can be used for building romantic relationships and if only one gender could have the trait it would be impossible to build romantic relationships. But now i understand that it´s wierd if thats what he means as womens and mens can have all different traits.

Yeah I only wrote that as the word 'bro' is usually associated with guys and it will work independent of gender. Nothing in my writing is ever meant to be for one or the other, just how game mechanics work. When I cover romance, the information will work to get a boyfriend or girlfriend no matter the gender of the player's Sim. :) I am hoping to expand the traits page with more specifics on what they do, as they do a bit more behind the scenes than the simple descriptions indicate. Some were tested more thoroughly than others.
