nice guide!
parties are pretty easy if your household is large and invited.
(Listen to the piano requirement: send your own sim listen to your own sim)
More tricky if it's at the start of a game with a standalone sim.

One thing could be said is you don't need at all to do everything to get gold
For example for dates you have a main task (socialize) when you can go 2 way: flirty or friendly, and if you go only one of this way to the end (woohoo for flirty way) you get gold.

Thanks Miss Trips, funnily enough I haven't actually attempted a Spooky Party yet. They actually sound a little daunting.

Spooky parties are mostly social interactions.  The one thing that you need to be mindful of is that pumpkin carving, because it takes a long time.  One thing I did notice is one of your sims can ask a guest sim to carve a pumpkin, so if you only have one sim in your household you can have them draft a guest to do your pumpkin carving while your sim does all the needed socializations.  Just make sure to keep an eye on them, so the carving gets done!

Would any of you happen to know how to "make a toast"? I keep missing gold medals because I can't find the interaction anywhere  >:(

You need to be standing up, with a drink in your hand then you'll find it under "friendly"

At the dinner party I always get the goal "have 3 sims listen to music". Usually I have a 2 sim household.

Is there anyway to get a npc to listen to music at the same time?

I can never get gold due to this goal  >:(

I know if you are talking to another sim you should have the option to "listen to [type of music] together," and I think that should work. So you just start a conversation with a npc and then click on the stereo. I know that goal is a little touchy, though, and I don't think it always works for me.

I don't always find that option comes up. Certainly not in my most recent dinner parties anyway.

I always tend to have a speaker/music in the kitchen where the host sim cooks whilst my other sim chats to npcs etc. So they are all in the same room. I get both my sims listening to music at the same time as whatever they are doing, but can never get any of the npcs to listen.

*sighs*

@Tigerskin
If you have Get Together, what about creating a club headed by one of your sims, a club just for parties?
I have a full house but whenever they throw a party, I switch club activities accordingly: mix/drink bar drinks, eat food, listen to music, dance, play [whatever] games, Be Romantic (for a house party), and so on.

@oshizu you can't throw a party and have a club running at the same time can you?

@Tigerskin   Yes, you can.

At your home lot, you can have a club gathering during your own party.
If you don't set anywhere for your "club base" (I'm sorry but I'm not at home and can't check my game atm), you can hold a club meeting wherever your club leader is (but not Sylvan Glade, Forbidden Grotto, Hermit's Retreat).
If you choose to hold a party at another sim's house, though, you can't start a club gathering there unless you add a member of that household to your club.
