Dying out
« on: October 25, 2010, 07:06:43 PM »
If you have story progression on and have aging disabled will after maybe a few months or maybe longer will the town eventually be dead from people dying in accidents? I mean if people are still dying and no one is born to take their place then the town could just die right?

Story progression randomly spawns new families, so no.

I don't think having aging disabled makes the sims in the neighbourhood unable to get pregnant and have babies, I just guess the babies will never grow up. And Simstar is right about spawning new families - that seems to happen even if both story progression and aging is off.

But then could the town have none of the original people living in it and does that mean that someone else will just live in the Goth House?

It's highly unlikely that the entire town would die from accidents, first of all.  If aging is turned off, they'll just keep living as they normally do.  However, families move out of town and move to different houses as part of story progression.  And, yes, other Sims move into their former houses.  I've had many different families occupy the Goth house and almost all of the others, too.
