Can I Still Build Houses If All Of My Lots Are Filled?
« on: October 24, 2014, 08:58:59 PM »
Is there a way for me to keep building houses for fun even though all of my lots are full and occupied, and I don't want to move or bulldoze them?

I guess what I'm looking for is "Create A House/Building" instead of "Create A Sim."  ;)

Does anyone know a work around for this, or do I just have to stop building until they release expansion packs that add more neighborhoods or lots?

Thanks!

You could start new game to use just for building.

As suggested, start a new game and name it House Builds.  Then you can bulldoze all of the lots and you have plenty to build on.  Just be sure when you're saving a house for the first time on a bulldozed lot that you use Save As and save as a new build.  I can't remember the exact commands but if you "overwrite" the bulldozed lot, credit will go to the original EA creator for the original lot rather than to yourself.

Does this mean that I have to bulldoze a lot before building so that the credit goes to the creator?

Even bulldozing a lot doesn't remove the original creator.  To do that, you much use the option to save the new house as a new creation.  Do NOT overwrite the existing creation.

How do you do that Dellena, or maybe I should say, where?

I was looking at that the other day.  It's the name of the lot that matters.  If you don't rename the house, it will retain the original lot creator's name.  So change the name of the lot at the top of the lot information panel.
