Glasses turn to Purple Shades?
« on: October 22, 2014, 09:03:20 AM »
Hi everyone! I just wanted to ask if anyone is experiencing this.

Whenever my (or any of the neighborhood Sims) wear glasses, their avatars (on the emotions status, on the friends section, everytime their face appears somewhere not in-world, but in-system) have purple shades.

I know that they actually wear the eyewear I intended them to wear, but it appears to have a purple lens over it. It's not really a big issue, but it's annoying me a little.

It's the same for me, but I haven't found out yet how to fix it, sadly.

On the Sims forum there is a thread about this bug called: Solid purple lens on glasses - because of "laptop mode".

The search on official forums is crappy so just the title won't lead you to the thread. It's this one:
http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/794935/solid-purple-lens-on-glasses-because-of-laptop-mode

To make it shorter:
Solid purple lens bug is caused by laptop mode on. To "cure" the problem till it's fixed via another patch, laptop mode has to be set off. The problem will then disappear after about 15 minutes of playing the game.
To make it correct itself faster, a player can after disabling laptop mode, delete game cache:
