Make Memories to Create Emotions
« on: September 30, 2014, 10:25:54 PM »
In Sims 4 you can use screenshots to create memories then recall them to get that emotion! Steps below on how! Playalot had mentioned this feature I was not aware of over on the Emotions Thread. I said I would make a guide about it so here it is :)

Step 1) Locate the camera button in the top right of your screen then click the small Polaroid Icon (Memories & Pictures)

Step 2) click (View Screenshots) button in the bottom left corner
- This will take some time if you have a ton of screenshots! -

Step 3) Select a screenshot you want to use

Step 4) You can add a description or whatever you want. Then click the icon to the left of the Trash Can

Step 5) You should be taken back to the main Memory Timeline you are now going to want to select your new memory

Step 6) You should now be able to  select Angry, Embarassing, Inspiring, Confident, Romantic, Sad, or Happy from the list in the top right then press the check mark to accept it

Step 7) At any time you can choose the cloud icon and Reminisce about the memory!

Your Sim will que up this action. In total the process is very quick (about 15-30 seconds) then you will get an emotional buff of whatever the memory had associated with it.

Well done justproud2b, I knew you'd make a fantastic guide. You rock  ;D
This is such a handy, quick way to get your sims into the right mood/emotion for work or school. I use it all the time. It's a perfect strategy for making awesome use of stacked up emotions. So for focused I 'ponder chess moves' then 'reflect on happy emotion' and my sim is good to go.
I love your screen shots too. Thanks heaps for putting this all together.

This is a good guide, thanks for writing it, Justproud2b.  ;)

It gives 4 hours of an emotion of your choosing and it is almost instantaneous, a very good discovery Playalot!

I wish I'd seen this one sooner. This is so useful for quick emotional boosts for work or school, which are some of the most difficult to achieve for me! Thanks!

That is so handy, thanks for sharing. My sim has so much to do before work, so this instantaneous boost will be very helpful. :)

Holy cow, this is golden. Well done, justproud2b. Competitive challenge players starting the Tournament in January will love this.

Its worth noting that not all emotions are available to use when making memories. For example, focused isn't there.  My sim will just need to read Simpedia before work!

Well, at least that they found something that I haven't discovered yet and that's kind of amazing for me. Even a little thing in this world has meaning… This is just an alternative, you know. For focused emotion that could be achieved easily with place several painting that related to focus see other guides (you could always cheating if you need to do so) and please appreciate their hard work :(

Probably 'ponder moves' on a chess table is a little bit quicker than Simpedia, maybe even 'study a fossil' etc  :) Also remember that you can use a happy memory to boost all other moods.

@arimau: I do appreciate the hard work EA have put in to The Sims 4, I think its a great game but I was just letting people know that not all the emotions can be automatically achieved this way. I don't mind making my sims do the hard work ha ha ha! Its a handy wee short cut, I love finding all the little hidden bonuses.

Thanks for the tip though, just finding my way through the game still and I am loving it! Have a happy Monday everyone :) xx

I figured out how to get a screenshot to save as a memory. Despite both Sims being focused, I only get the option to create a confident memory. My male Sim has a confident moodlet that is being overridden by focused. Is there any way I can change the emotion the game is picking? Do the emotions need to be pure (no other competing emotion) for this to work?
