Noticed a slight adjustment to the baby bump
« on: September 29, 2014, 01:48:39 PM »
Since the last patch, I've noticed that with the pregnancies (I've had two since the last patch) the baby bump doesn't appear until the 2nd Trimester.  An appropriate adjustment I think.  The symptoms are all still there, just the bump doesn't start to show until the 2nd Trimester.  Unless I missed it, I didn't see it mentioned in the patch notes which tells me that things are being fixed or adjusted as we're going along even if it's not mentioned.

Can confirm. I noticed that as well, at first I assumed it was just a bug but it actually makes more sense when it's not... It's good that small things like this are being fixed/changed silently.

I thought the same thing also, but it showed up right after the pregnancy test again when I was playing last night.

My sim showed immediately after the pregnancy test too.

Interesting.  Are your games fully patched?  Just curious.

My game version is  1.0.728.0 so I should have the latest patch installed. Last night my sim still got the baby bump.

Her tummy is not showing properly in the picture just before trying for baby, but if you look closely, it is smaller than in the pic after taking the positive pregnancy test. So yeah, the bump seems to show immediately if you take the test.

My daughters sim is pregnant and she doesn't look any different yet, as she just found out. My first sim pregnancies, pre-patch, they looked full term as soon as they found out.
I wonder if it's a little random, and also dependent on your sims size? Maybe it's like real life, where some people show early in a pregnancy, and others can be six months pregnant and not be showing at all?

I'm trying to think when I started this couple.  I think it was before the last patch.  I'll take screenshots on the next pregnancy.  Two more kids to go to have the full 8 sims household.

In my game, every sim has been different. Sometimes they don't show at all until halfway through the second trimester, and other times they're huge as soon as they take the test. There seems to be no connection to pregnancies with multiples, either. I've only been able to predict it once, when Logan Mullen had triplets in the second generation. She was HUGE with that pregnancy though.

I'm fully patched, and for the past couple of days it still seems to vary by sim and pregnancy.

I was going to say that maybe if they don't take a pregnancy test, then they mightn't show as soon... so you are left wondering if they are pregnant, but maybe that's not the case.

I think that there is differences between pregnancies too as during my sims first she was fairly large during last stage but on her second pregnancy she was huge from the second day. Both single nooboos.

OK, I'm doing a little test and have identical twins marry identical twins. The girls look exactly the same (except their hair) are wearing the same clothes and have the same traits and aspirations. Same goes for their hubbies.
They all moved into a house and immediately started trying for a baby (several times to be sure). I took a photo of them together straight after and they are both the same. Straight after the photo shoot, both threw up, so pretty sure both are pregnant. I had one take a pregnancy test which was positive. As soon as she got the result, her belly popped out a bit. Her sister who didn't take a test is still skinny. I've taken another pic and will post them and others from their pregnancies after the babies arrive.

My current sim has stayed skinny after each pregnancy test (3 so far).  Will test it on #4 in another Sims day or so.  I'll get screenshots.  She had twins with her second pregnancy.

Well my girls had their babies.. mum A who took the test and showed straight away was 24 hours ahead in her pregnancy. When she reached the second trimester, her sister finally realised she was pregnant and had 24 hours until she would reach the second trimester, even though they both conceived  within an hour or two of each other.  So after the babies were born, I repeated the test. This time mum b took the test and again, as soon as she knew, she popped and had 24 hours to the 2nd trimester while mum a found out the next day and was 24 hours behind her sister all the way.
