Remove emotions

How do you remove certain emotions? Taking a cold shower will help make you less flirty, but how do you lose the other ones? Mostly I'd like to get rid of confident.

That is such a good question. I'm forever trying to get rid of being confident so my artist can get inspired. Actually he usually IS inspired but the confident moodlets always outweigh the inspired ones.
I have found that stacking up heaps of inspired moodlets eventually outweigh confident but it takes:
1. a thoughtful shower
2. view inspired item
3. view art (masterpiece)
4. reflect on inspired memory
5. read an inspiring book
6. being near 4+ inspiring decor items.
Other than that all I've found to work is to wait it out, usually takes four hours.

Calm yourself down in a mirror reduces Tense and Playful duration. A bathe also quickens the duration of bad mood.

Not exactly remove, but you can stack the emotion higher so that it will overpower the ones you dont need. It is kind of a problem for me too, I keep getting Confident while cooking when it is Inspired that I wanted to be. =/

We definitely need to research more on this.

If it's ok I'm going to add all this to the emotions list I have compiled here this way people can see when and how to control emotions.

It seems from playing that you can not remove positive emotions just over power them using the kitchen set from cooking helps a ton your in constant inspired regardless of current mood when you enter a kitchen with all the auras turned on. Negative emotions on the other hand seem to have ways to reduce the time.

Actually Flirty and Playful are positive emotions and we have ways to reduce them. Im sure more are waiting to be discovered or added via game patches.

I don't know of any way to remove confident, but if you can boost your Inspired to a higher tier you can over power it. The higher level emotion will be dominant, so to "get rid" of plus 1 confident, try to get to plus 2 or higher in the desired emotion. One tip for the Kids "Wiz Kid" aspiration is to place their homework on a desk, in a room with some focused decor. This will keep their mood focused when they finish the homework and prevent the last minute switch to confident from preventing the credit for "finish homework while focused" requirement. Similar tactics can be used for other situations. Set up "mood rooms" by loading them with decor that gives the dominant aura for the associated tasks. Almost all of the careers give aura items as rewards, and there are many ways to get inspired buffs/auras. The free post cards from pen pals are an easy one to obtain in the early game. I like to hang them around the kitchen and around my creative objects to help maintain inspired. The random confidence moodlets can be a pain, but inspired is probably one of the easier emotions to achieve, because there are so many ways to do it.
