Reaping Skill?!?
« on: September 26, 2014, 08:01:58 PM »
After taking a look at the cheats page, and TwistedMexi's wiki, I noticed that there's a Reaping skill.  Has anyone tested it out yet?

As an update, I created a test character and gave him a level in Reaping, and all it did was say I now had skill in shepherding souls.  No new interactions or animations that I could find after interacting with as many people as I could.  So for now it looks like a leftover or something you can gain from interacting with Grim.  I haven't had anyone die near my character yet so I don't know about the latter.

I googled this and it looks like it doesn't do anything or affect anything. Maybe it will come into play later on, or as you said, it could be a leftover.

i have tested out this reaping skill myself and i found out because i cheat games alot and i was cheating my skills up when i noticed the reaping skill so i cheated it to 10 and i noticed that every time i pleaded for another sims life it worked most of the time the grim reaper does not listen to you but once i boosted my skill to 10 it worked all of a sudden

hi @justtheautosimmer , welcome to the forum. What a very cool discovery. So it sounds like the reaping skill is actually a hidden ability in successfully pleading for another sims life... not the actualy ability to 'reap' a dead sim (ie Grim style).

I wonder how a sim could level this reaping skill in course of regular gameplay.

Create a retirement home - move several elders in and run it as a caretaker.  Any time one of the elders is visited by the Grim Reaper, plead for their life.  I've actually done the retirement home before as simply a means of moving long elders out of mansions so the game could move in younger families.

@Dellena  Thank you for sharing! That's ironic--you're running a home to ease out the elders and end up learning a skill to extend their lives.
