And if you cloudgaze before 8 PM and right after 8 PM you can stack cloudgaze with stargaze .

It's also useful to have inspired décor in the kitchen. For that I tend to get a few postcards from pen-pals. And orchids give the inspired mood too.

My experience with the tea infuser is that it doesn't give inspired instead of another emotion, but in addition to it. For example +2 Energized and +2 Inspired. From the same cup. If your sim has many other energized moodlets then its easy to miss the fact they've got an inspired one as well, and vice versa.
It is a little thing of my own. I call it "Heart Foam". I shall not publish it. Farewell! Patience, Patience, farewell!

I don't know if this helps much, but do befriend the large kid dolls when you're childish. If the relationship is high enough, you can "Imagine Enchanted Forest with <Doll Name>" then instant 4 hour moodlet.

Another neat device you can try is the Future Cube.  By simply asking it certain questions (much like a magic 8 ball) your Sims can instantly change their mood to one of 4 emotions: Inspired, Confident, Focused, or Flirty.  Because it is instantaneous, it's perfect for when Sims are leaving for work/school, or are ready to work on a skill or project.  There is a tiny chance of backfiring, where your Sim will become sad or tense, but the Future Cube is certainly fun, and Sims can carry it in Inventory anywhere they go.  It is found in Activities & Skills under Recreation in Buy Mode.

Woah, I had no idea it could do such cool stuff... I'd seen it before but wondered why anyone would bother wasting money on a tiny cube.  ::)

Here is some of the guaranteed method to get inspired :
* Decorative / items that give Inspiration aura (Chef, Writer, Painter career rewards, Postcard from pen pals)
* Take thoughtful shower (+1 for 4 hrs)
* View inspired art from career rewards (+1 for 4 hrs)
* Gather Inspiration from arts / critically assess (+1 for 4hrs)
* Get inspiration from musical instruments (+1 for 8hrs. need at least level 3 at respective instrument)
* Drink Prose and Pop (+2 for 4 hrs) only available if your sims are already inspired at the bar
* If you have outdoor retreat Cloudgaze and Stargaze. (+1 for 6hrs both can stack if timed properly)
* Drinking Inspired emotion potions (+100 for a mere 4hr) This is overkill and not to mention expensive only use this path if you have cloning machine ready.

Here is somewhat random way to be inspired but there is no chance of failure :
* Drinking tea that is upgraded with infuser. The best way is to drink healthy green as it gives +2 happy that stacks with +2 inspired.
* Admire art when you are art lover (+1 for 4h)
* Analyze book when you are bookworm (+1 for 4h)

With a chance of failure :
* Browse for art reference (painter career +1 8 hr). Failure make you tense instead
* Asking Future Cube. Failure could make tense or sad

This is not complete since there are ways like choosing certain answer at career chance card and only account for adults sim that did not have childish sim.

Thoughtful shower and/or view art are both quick, as is browse art on the computer. Listen deeply also gives a buff if you have a stereo and the music lover trait. These options are all better than relying on auras for work, because aura effects only really apply when you're in range of the object. If you have the yoga mat or massage table from Spa Day, they both can provide longer lasting inspired buffs, but they also take longer to use, so it's pretty over the other methods. If you can time it just right, the yoga buff can last almost the full work day though. I'd estimated that the yoga routine takes about 2 Sim hours though(I haven't timed it exactly so that may be off). I'm not sure if higher wellness makes it quicker or not. The bath soaks from spa day also give buffs, but I forget whether there is an inspired one or not.
