Very very anti-climatic Mummy encounter
« on: November 24, 2009, 09:52:58 AM »
Me and my insomnia..last night was extremely excited about going to egypt. Have my trip up to 6 days now. I had a tent, plenty of shower-in-a-can's, high quality dried food, and mummy snacks. Set out on Tomb of Burning Sands Adventure. Lara's althetic skill I believe was 5. Come around the corner, and there is a sarcophagus. Open it up, and there is a mummy. I was sitting there waiting for something, anything.. but he just calmly walks right on by me! I'm posting screenshots later on, because at one point, Lara tries to walk around him, and they both stop with their hands on their hips!! LOL ;D

This was my first mummy encounter, and honestly, I was a tad disappointed. Has anyone else ever had that happen?

Also - and I am wondering now if this would have made a difference. Low agressive mummy <?> + eye candy LTR = no chance of fight?
I will love him and squeeze him and pet him and call him George!!

It's probably a pathfinding issue. One of the Sims 3's biggest problems is anti-climatic moments due to pathfinding.

It can really ruin the moment when my newly married couple has the house all alone. They wake up, and snuggle for a little while on the bed before waking up, and enjoying a hot meal together. They spend the day working out in their garden, stopping a few times to splash each other with water. After they're finished working, they head out to their outdoor garden baths for a relaxing soak under the tree's shade. At around 8pm, they head in for a romantic dinner. My female sim prepares lobster thermidor, and my male sim goes to the basement to fetch some nectar. After their dinner, they gaze into each other's eyes ravenously.

My male sim grabs my female sim, one thing leads to another, and they're ready to head to the bedroom for some woohoo.

It takes 2 hours for my sims to get in bed.

This is where imagination really comes into play. The reason the mummy didn't go after your sim is because they're so light and dainty that he didn't hear her. Or, as you said, because you're sim was just too pretty to eat.

Either that or wait for a patch.

After watching my martial artist fight 3 mummies in a row (in one room) and stomp them, I have to say it wouldn't have been much better if you'd fought. I was disappointed to see it's the same old fight sequence, but a little funny watching a mummy get put in a headlock.

I think they're slow to attack regardless, to give Sims who aren't living weapons a chance to get away :P

My only encounter with a mummy thus far was one that came out of its sarcophagus, and walked by my sim digging into a treasure chest.  Then he came back and was going to attack my sim and took mummy snacks instead.  I laughed for a good 5 minutes over that.  And my sim had the Eye Candy reward as well.

I did get my revenge though when I got back to town. I think it's Alexander or something Clavell who tried to mooch Lara outside of the bookstore. Then when she refused, he insulted her.. wrong move!!  :D

Then it was on like Donkey Kong!!  :D

I would have rather fought the mummy though. LOL.

:D good pics.  I have a sim who is blue belt and going to Egypt to kick mummy butt.  At what point do you get hit with the mummy's curse?  I certainly don't want that!

Another sim went and got the the same room with chests on both sides.  The mummy came out of sarcophagus and went right for my sim.  He calmly walked out of the room while I was bouncing up and down in my chair urging him TO HURRY!  :D  First encounter with a mummy and I was taking no chances.  He has only a few athletic points, no martial arts skill and no mummy snacks.  Boy, do mummies move slow...my sim could out walk him.  :D

I have a sim who has top level visas in all locations and she only encountered mummies once.  They were stuck behind the gate and she roasted them with a fire trap.

Does anyone else think the adventures in France are lame?  I feel like all I did was run around giving nectar and dinner to all the locals.

I'm also stuck with lame adventures in China.  All I'm getting are the ones for mercury or copper.  I'm not taking the copper ones because I've never found any in China.  I have loads of it at home, but didn't bring it with me on this trip.  But those mercury and copper adventures just keep coming.

ME TOO!! I went to China today for the first time -LOL that sounds so funny.. anyway, that's all I kept getting, find me this, find me that.. I eventually gave in just to up the visa. I have found it's exceptionally hard to have 2 Sims in the same country one doing a dungeon and another training in martial arts..click sim click sim.. what are you doing?? DELIVER THE RELIC YOU IDIOT!!

 :D :D

I must say though, been to all three, and although of course I loved France, I have to say, so far, China has been my fav. I don't know if it's the scenary or what but it's BEAUTIFUL! I'm really looking forward to going back so I can really explore!  ;)
