I really, really hope that the challenge tournaments that were hosted for 3 will return for 4! I LOVED those, and 4 is more to my style, so I'm even more excited.

Oh, the most popular Sims 3 events will definitely return next year for the Sims 4 Challenge Tournament — Baby Boomer, an upgrade event, a career one, etc. Why reinvent the wheel? There will be a few challenges featuring the new game components, such as "get as much Satisfaction as you can in two weeks" or "Complete as many Aspirations as you can in four weeks," but for the most part the bulk of events will be player favorites from the past.
